So, any news on the phone problems? I managed to get one call through to my fiancee in CDO at midnite after about 100 tries.

As of 1pm US eastern time my wife's PLDT land line was still down. Her DSL connection is up but she's got issues connecting to some websites and Yahoo IM isn't connecting. Her cell phone is working but not perfect - she said it took a few tries.

I couldn't reach Fely all day yesterday, and it's looking like a repeat today. She uses just a Globe cell phone, I cannot reach her by phone, nor can I text her phone using Chikka. I hope this gets fixed soon, I have information she needs before she goes to Angeles City to change the name on her passport. (A good 6 hour bus ride for her)

It doesn't have anything to do with the local providers, cell or landline. The underwater lines off the shore of Taiwan were damaged by the earthquake. Everything is impacted.

Morning update:

Lina was able to call me from her PLDT land line this morning. Her cell worked yesterday but the connection is spotty. We talked in Skype last night but she had a lot of trouble understanding me. She said I sounded like a robot. This morning we talked and she could understand me but we got disconnected 3x in about 15 minutes. She can not connect to Yahoo IM and she said her Email takes 5-10 minutes to open.
