Can i Apply For Medi-Cal while waiting for AOS

Hi,

As i came to the US by K1 visa and just going to file the papers for Adjusting the Status, while waiting this period and until the period of the Employment Authorization finish, can i apply for the Medi-Cal as im in California, or even Obama Care?

in the Form I-485 i found a Question saying " Have you received public assistance in the US from any source, including the US government or any State, County, City, or Municipality (other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future? YES OR NO."

this question got me confused about this and not sure what to do.

Some quick googling would indicate that PRUCOL (Permanent Residence Under Color Of Law)is sufficient to obtain Medi-Cal and the way to prove as such is with your I797-C NOA-1 for the I-485.

Yes, I should have elaborated that you would still need to quality for Medi-Cal itself based on means testing or any other requirements they may have.

Well you qualify for Medi-Cal once your AOS is in process but that depends upon your spouse's income & assets as to whether they exceed the means tests that Medi-Cal uses so you should still look into that.
