So on december 20th we recieved the letter from the NVC stating that our case had been forwarded to the Guatemalan Embassy as part of the process (our papers were approved in November by the Texas service center). I havent heard anything from the embassy and when i try to contact them by phone all i get is a call center with basic information about non.immigrant visas i cant seen to get someone to ask them specifically about my process, i cant even get anyone on the phone its all programmed stuff.. i wonder if this is a fairly regular time period for the embassy not to contact me or if i should start contacting them.. Has anything like this happened to anyone? what should i do?

I'm going through the same thing. I know our petition has been at the embassy since Dec 19th.

We've called and sent them emails and haven't gotten a reply from the embassy. If we don't hear anything from the embassy this week my fiancée is going to the embassy on Friday.

I really don't know what else to do. Sorry this is happening to you as well...I thought it was just in Nicaragua. :(

I have the same problem! My Fiance is in Peru, and I JUST GOT A LETTER TODAY stating that his paperwork was received Dec. 16, and his interview was TODAY!!

This was the first that I had heard of ANYTHING being done with our application....... and now he's missed his interview and he never received his packet 4.

Does anyone have advice of what to do now? I would think calling the embassy and asking to pick up another packet 4 in person??

Please help!!

They are just going crazy I guess!!

When you call the embassy, just keep pressing buttons. They will give you info but AFTER it, someone will pickup your call. I've called probably three times this week and always get someone and they are very nice and professional. In my husband's case, his stuff hasnt left NVC and they already sent us his interview date for Feb. 4th. When you call the embassy, have the applicant's passport number and a number the embassy can call in Guatemala. They are there you just have to be patient. Also, the embassy will not contact you. You have to contact them. And the NVC was supposed to schedule your interview. Call NVC and ask what's up.

The Guatemala embassy is a little slow you have to push them Try calling the embassy and getting the info you should start by filling out embassy profile in their wesite here

Do you have a Case Number? If so go to Ceac.state.gov then put in your info. This will tell you the status. I also received an email, but it was in my SPAM... Please check your spam/Junk emails...... I almost deleted it by accident.
