Russian Pension

My fiancé is concerned how she will be able to handle her Russian pension once we get married and she moves here to the US. I did a little searching through Google with some suggestions, but was wondering if anyone here has gone through the same experience?

When my mother-in-law visits, her pension simply accrues and she's able to pick up the accrual when she returns. Depending on how often you plan on returning and how urgently you need the money, that may be an option. Honestly, I don't know if there is a way to collect the pension int he US, but there may be.

There is a way, but it still will require to go back to Russia once in a while. Retired person in Russia can make a bank account to collect pension (it will be deposited there monthly), and if this account in chosen bank also allows to have a debit card linked to account, this card typically can be used abroad. Fees may vary depends on bank, but I've heard people doing it such way. But she will need to go back to Russia to renew her card when it expires because I don't think you can ask somebody to do it for you using your name, and I'm not sure if Pension Fund of Russia requires any show ups for people occasionally.
