I just checked the uscis website and got this message for Richard's AOS (we had our interview last Wednesday and were told by the interviewer that he never approves on the spot but we can tell friends and family that the interview went VERY well !!!!)

the date touched was today and the message read:

Case Status

The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

Before I totally freak out can anyone tell me if they have ever encountered this type of message. When I saw the new touched date I was excited and expecting/hoping to see an appoved message but I got that instead.

Thanks you guys. I know I found this forum late but you guys are so helpful  . I really appreciate it !!!!!

From what I've read, cases that are approved mysteriously drop out of the system for a short time until Welcome Letters and green cards are processed. So I think you can bet on it being good news. ;)

Thanks so much !!!! Just the news I wanted to hear. The message gives the 800 number so I called it and went through the press 1 press5 press # etc to ultimately be told (by a recorded voice) that they couldn't access the account (some bs about a temporary problem) and that I should call back later.

Thanks GAIN

I'm glad that they posted an updated message for you.

I was going to post to say that I actually found that the same thing had happened for me when I checked my status yesterday (AOS was approved at my interview last week). They have not updated the message for me yet, but I am glad to see I was not the only one to have this happen.

The problem for us was we were not told in the interview that we were approved. The interviewer told us he NEVER approves at the meeting....but we could tell our friends and family that the interview went VERY well. (I posted this all in a seperate post) Although our lawyer and hubby were sure it meant we were approved, I work for the federal gov't and I know it aint over till you get something "official".
