Hi,

I have a K1 visa and am married. I received an email notice from USCIS that on 12/19 my I131 advance parole travel application was approved and mailed. I bought tickets for a one week trip back to Ukraine. I still haven't received the hard copy in the mail. Since the approval is also listed in the USCIS website status, will I have trouble re-entering the US after my trip, without a hardcopy of the approval?

Thanks.

I doubt a printout from the website will be sufficient to satisfy the POE officer when you reenter the country, they will want to see the actual AP document.

Privyet!

It's risky, it all depends on how long you are going to be out of the country, for a short visit, you may not be able to get it in time, if it's for a long trip you can have your spouse sending it to you to Ukraine, to be on the safe side I would wait for it, just my 2 cents.

Maybe do an infopass appointment and see if they can issue one right away based on the approval online. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. Today I got the hard copy in the mail. I was expecting my approval and my son's approval, as stated in the email from USCIS, but instead I only received two copies of my approval. Is it normal to get two identical travel approvals, or did USCIS make a mistake?

One: never travel without your AP document, you won't be allowed back into the United States without it.

two: receiving two copies of your AP is normal. Sometimes, one will be stamped and the other taken by the customs official, sometimes they just stamp one and give you back both copies.

Good for you!! I got my approval for my AP on Nov 20 and received my hard copy 4 days later. My sons AP was approved Dec 13 and I stll haven't received his hard copy and he is stuck up in Canada. I phoned them and said they wouldn't do anything until January 13. I'm just a little stressed out at this point. :crying:
