If the truth were known MANY would not pass a mental examine . Years of seeing car wreaks, dead bodies and Thugs that would love to see them dead certainly play on the mind.....I believe they can even fly with a loaded gun. Half the police are on depression meds at some point in their life.

Who said you are depressed for life. A lot depends on where you work. Small town Barnie Fife VS working East LA. Everyone handles stress differently. You are being treated for depression and on meds you act normal ...correct. . This is what meds do. .. Unless you are trained to recognize slight nuances in a persons behavior no one can tell if you have a problem.

Perhaps. I've been through that with my grand father. His was just from meds and he ended up shooting himself. But I think we should at least be able to agree people in this state shouldn't be trusted with firearms right?

Btw, there has been no evidence, that I'm aware of, suggesting this retired cop was suffering depression or on any medication.
