That's where all this is going. If you allow civilians to carry weapons in normal life you have to accept that the law is allowing citizens to decide who deserves to die. Apparently removing the justice system from the equation is civilised and American.

Yup. Eliminate the courts and cut taxes to distribute the savings back to the population - the deserving part of the population. They can use the tax savings to buy more guns and ammo to do what the founding fathers erroneously thought the courts should do - deliver justice.

? ? (.) right? i'm fairly sure there is a no firearms placard at the theater door. so, he wasn't 'allowed' to carry it, he just did. the idea to limit a law abiding citizens right to defend themselves against a criminal that doesn't follow the law is..well stupid.

So is there a laundry list of where you can and can't take a gun? Does it all fit on one page?

Can a person wear a gun while in the swimming pool?

If the pool is the only place criminals know they won't encounter armed opposition to their evil designs, that is where they will do all their designing.

If Baywatch had been set in Florida David Hassellhoff would have jumped into the water with a pistol wedged down the back of his Speedos.

Road rage is another thread. I would argue whether they deserve to die depends on the severity of the infraction. Truckers that swerve their trucks on purpose to intimidate nice people like me putzing along in their little Korean compacts do deserve to die.

As for this case, if a texter is asked a minimum of three times to take it outside and he refuses, I do think death is warranted. In fact, I think death serves the cause of justice.

If you're being funny, fine. If not.....

What this all comes down to is self obsession. Was this guys constitutional rights being infringed upon? No. There is such an obsession from people in the US with being able to live their life completely free of the impact of living in a society. In many cases, people that live in small towns grow so impatient with the inconvenience others cause in their life they get to a point of explosion. The obsession with societal justice is so dangerous in the hands of someone that carries a weapon. Was the texting guy being rude? No doubt. Does this rudeness deserve to be escalated to the point of death? What the hell is wrong with us when such menial triggers can send people to a casket? WHEN YOU LIVE ON A PLANET WITH OTHER PEOPLE, SOME TIMES THOSE OTHER PEOPLE WILL BE RUDE TO YOU. You are not granted a constitutional right to not be infringed upon by other members of society being annoying. Life is precious and you as the victimized, annoyed, pent up anger bearing, concealed carry, do not get to decide whether people get to live or die based on their level of annoying. Leave the movie theater and go F***ing watch a movie in a cave, where no one will bother you if you can't handle being around the inconsiderate masses that will put themselves and their life before you every time. They don't care about you any more than you care about them. You don't get to be the societal police.

that's a stupid law. you people in florida need to do something about that.

do you have any questions someone on this board can actually answer? or are you going to continue this ridiculous line of never ending unanswerable questions?

I have no wish to argue with you if you do in fact believe that there are places that gun owners shouldn't wish to take guns and that gun owners should be banned from taking them. I have no wish to ban gun ownership, just the stupidity that seems inevitably to go with it in the US.

The victimized, annoyed, pent up anger bearing concealed carry permit law abiding gun owner did, in fact, get to decide whether the other person gets to live or die. He decided that he gets to die and he is thus now dead. And the same thing in a variety of settings plays out multiple time each and every day in this country. And yet, you still have a loud crowd of imbeciles standing there arguing that we need more guns in the population and in more places to make it all stop. That argument is the pinnacle of stupidity.

This is a perfect example of why the "good guy with a gun" "bad guy with a gun" ####### makes no sense. Up until this incident, this guy was probably a "good guy" Now this one event occurs and he's a murderer? Wasn't he a responsible gun owner for all of the rest of his life? How does that help the dead guy and his family?

Then society will continue its descent into madness.

The shooter in this story struck a blow for good ol' fashioned manners and decorum. Like it was in the old days, when everyone was nice to each other and people cared about their neighbors and countrymen.

There's a difference between police officers and government maintaining order and constitutional freedoms and crotchety old guys with CC pissed off at "people these days" vs "back in his day"

Hardin and several of his fellow cow herders had put up for the night at the "American House Hotel". Sometime during the evening, Hardin, and at least one other cow hand, began firing bullets through the bedroom wall and ceiling, in an attempt to stop the snoring which was coming from the next room. A sleeping stranger, Charles Cougar, was killed.

Yeah its funny until some murderer actually kills someone for doing it. There's a reason the death penalty or life sentences are not the consequences of every crime. And what we're talking about isn't even a crime.
