Hey everybody,

I'm in the middle of AOS. We started the process in late November. I had my biometrics appointment scheduled for January 2nd, went there, everything went fine but I got no case update whatsoever.

I'm trying not to panic, but the bio appointment was over so quick, they just handed me back the invitation letter and told me I can leave.. Is it normal that none of my cases has an earlier date on it than '12/03/13'?? Nothing happened after the appointment or they just don't bother to update.

So, normal or not normal? (Oh I went to the bronx, ny office in case it's important)

Normal. They don't update your status after every single step they take.

well, I believe the christmas season hit them badly :)

I'm in the exact same situation - filed 11/05/13, biometrics 12/16/13 and the website and phone say 'acceptance'. nothing, nothing, nothing...

to make it even better they lost my EAD papers, which I caught after 2 months from submitting and need to resend.. and - we live with my in-laws and without my job we won't move out..

You can try calling to make sure they got your biometrics. Next thing to expect would be testing and interview update. And that can take lots more time depending on your local office.

4/29/13 - received NOA in mail

5/08/13 - received biometrics appointment for 5/22

5/09/13 - successful early walk in at Port Chester, NY office

5/22/13 - I-485 updated to Testing & Interview

6/18/13 - EAD went to production

6/21/13 - Card/Document Production for EAD - second email

6/24/13 - EAD mailed

6/26/13 - EAD arrived

7/18/13 - got email about interview

7/20/13 - got hard copy interview letter

08/23/13 - interview - Approved dancin5hr.gif(card production & decision email)

08/28/13 - card production - second email

08/29/13 - card mailed

Ha! Really exact same situation. We live with my parents in law till I finally can work so you must know how bad I want that EAD! I hope you get yours soon ;)

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to practice patience

riiiight... I can add one more 'problem' - we have the big 'wedding' and reception in april, and my parents will need a place to stay, so having a house is a must have. but I don't think they will even think about expediting my papers even though THEY lost them!

I had my biometrics 3rd of October and did not hear anything about my EAD until 30th of October. Then only few weeks ago I've received possible interview waiver case letter and my i-485 is still in acceptance so id say pretty normal.

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.
