In addition to everyone filling in your timelines, it'd be awesome if everyone can verify their dates once and awhile. In doing a few timeline searches to compare people to my case, it appears some people are living in the future. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=25539, for example, seem to somehow know that their case will leave the NVC and arrive at the embassy on 2006-12-27.

I'm not sure if theres some way to let people know they may have made a mistake when they put in that date, Ewok-- Maybe something that pops up saying 'Are you sure that's the right date? It's in the future.' or something, prompting them to correct it? I realize some people put in 'entry date' and 'wedding date' as future dates because theyve already booked flights, that I'm not so much worried about, its the dates that just can't be right. Unless I'm missing something.

Also as another request, it'd be nice if there were a way to exclude certain users that show up in the advanced timelines, like a little (x) beside their name (kind of similar to the top option of 'hide'), so that you can filter out people you know don't belong there or who you know have incorrect dates.

I have a tool that I run every few weeks that find bad entries so I can fix them if there are obvious mistakes. The exclude feature is something I thought about though as well to filter our rare cases that throw of the stats.

The "outliers" really mess up the potential statistical accuracy of the timelines. That would be a good improvement

Also, in the underlying algorithm are the averages merely simple mean or do you use mean, median, mode or weight it towards recent performance?

YMMV

This one is definitely worth a bump! And I agree that it would be really useful to be able to ignore timelines with obviously incorrect dates on them... like the person whose NOA2 date is listed sometime next autumn, for instance!

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

I do, but the timeline discriminates against those who had a non-traditional immigration route. It forces you to fill out either a K-1 or CR-1/K-3 timeline. I feel like I am skewing everyone's results that way because my husband was here on a work visa when we met and married. But I had to fill out the timeline as if we'd done a CR-1 because otherwise it wouldn't let me fill in the other parts of the timeline (AOS, EAD, I-751).
