The point obviously is that Vermont is much like anywhere else - it's got its own set of social problems, some unique, some not.

Some interesting statistics though - 5th highest divorce rate in the country!

Funny how this thread has Vermont written all over it, yet Gary is no where to be seen...

Vermont is the only true free state in the country. Even junkies can have guns. But at least they don't steal to support their habit because the people they steal from may have a gun too. Stalemate.

But, that would sugget Vermont isn't this perfect utopia of cow chips and guns? How is this possible?

I understand you guys like to make fun of Gary, but back to the topic - yes there is a heroin problem in Vermont, and no one is trying to sweep it under the carpet. Is it better or worse than in other states? Don't know, at least in vermont they are willing to talk about it. We've only been living in Vermont for 6 months but I think we know it pretty well cause well we had the luxury of doing research for a year and being able to pick any state we wanted out of 50 states to live in(except for Wisconsin, my wife did not want to go back to Wisconsin), and we ended up picking Vermont. There were dozens of factors in our research and Vermont won. So while not perfect(no place in the world is perfect) there is alot going for this state. 5th lowest unemployment rate, second lowest crime rate, high level of personal freedom(although not enough economic freedom), quality of life, and more and more.

Hell, supposedly it even has the best drivers in the country :)

Not at all. Gary only posts on issues he doesn't care about. The less he cares, the more he posts. That might just work the other way around, too. wink.png

You just blew my mind. Since I'm at work, post a cool blowing mind gif for me.

I think that you'll find out that most folks here don't have a problem with Vermont. We're not deriding the state, because there are worse states, and from what I've seen, it's a quiet place to live. But, when someone turns EVERY single thread in this forum into something about Vermont, guns, Alla, Ukraine, and Obama it's a no brainer that something like this will get more attention.

What is the cause of the heroin problem? Is there a significant gang presence in the State?

Let's make it a drinking game. You should take a drink every time he talks about Vermont, guns, Alla, and Obama. I have to leave Putin and the Ukraine out since someone would die of over consumption.

Careful. The mods like to protect their pets from any criticism. So while we can talk about Vermont's problems with armed junkies roaming the streets looking for free ice cream samples from Ben & Jerry, one should not make this in anyway personal.

Got it, thanks for the heads up.

I've been telling you forever that Vermont has the hghest opiate addiction rate in the country. And still has the lowest crime because we can carry guns.

Major problem here, but we are still safe.

Have a drink on me.In Vermont you can carry concealed weapons in places that serve alcohol. Have another.

I never said it was perfect, they draw that conclusion themselves.

Highest opiate addiciton and 2nd lowest crime. Because we can carry guns.

Good choice. By the way you passed me in your vehicle the other day on Williston Rd. I saw the sign on it. I haven't had a chance to stop in youjr store yet, but I did see it down there on Main St.

Congratualations and Welcome
