Appointment letter requirements not correct

I got expedited around the NVC process and called the Embassy for an appointment, no luck. I got online today and did the expedite appointment request and then I got an appointment in the near future for my wife (less than 3 weeks). So the Visa class in the appointment confirmation letter is IR1 but in the instructions it says to pay the MRV fee and bring the DS-160? I got DS-260 submitted and printed out but is the MRV fee needed for the IR1/CR1 interview?

MRV does not apply to your category.

OK good. I think their appointment website was brilliant in that with my email address and case # brought up all the info. Then After reading the confirmation letter I am thinking different. I will be calling as soon as they open, the NVC was totally useless and the person I spoke with was rather rude but the embassy people I have had contact with seem utmost professional, but with differing answers.

Thanks!

Is it ok to make the appointment online? I have been calling US Embassy Manila and its so difficult to get in. My son's case had been expedited by NVC as well and is now in Manila. The guy at NVC said that I should follow up (calling USEM) to have an interview sked or wait for the appointment letter by email. I saw the online scheduling site but im afraid to do so as it might cause future problem.

IR/CR-1 is different than K-1 regarding scheduling online. Normally NVC schedules your appointment, but with expediting everything is very different as you file is rushed to USEM and they are handling more there. I would do as NVC stated and call the embassy. There are more phone numbers in my link below under the USEM tab.

I called USEM about the requirements of the MRV fee and DS-160 and they said ignore it and just bring the DS-260. They did mention about waiting for the letter but my wife is not at the house to receive it right now so, unless it is an email they send. I know its discussed in the forumes about how early to go to the appointment but they say 15 mins before the scheduled time, which is 6:30am. Any recommendations like 4aa to make sure?

We arrived about an hour before (we had a 6:30 appt) and there was a long line, but that was mostly because the embassy wasn't open yet, once the embassy opened the line slimmed down quickly and those arriving with earlier appt times were moved to the front of the line by the guards.
