Has a matter if fact is was 20000. How did u know. I have read in other places that it is excepted. Its not welfare. Its taxable income. I work contract jobs. So in between contracts I get unemployment.that us payed by my employer. Hence the term unemployment insurance. This was in 2012. A slow year for me election year us always bad for my work. 2013. I have. 78000. but my taxes wont be filed before interview I will have w2s before interview but I'm worried they will just look at last year filed. 2012. In 2012 I'm still at 42000 counting unemployment. Any. Thoughts

You are ok if you can bring W-2 for 2013. By any chance you could file for your taxes once you get your W-2? Online copied that shows you file will do. If you are able to do that then you won't need to show your 2012 ITR then it won't be an issue.

Thanks for your reply. Interview will be Feb 27. Would be a stretch to have my taxes filed by then. I'm also sending 5 years tax transcripts that show well over the minimum and of course. Equity in my home. I have a co sponser but I hear that Manila doesn't except co sponser for k1. Thank you again

oh, that is okay. Do you know that you can give a copy via email for W-2 and ITR? So, if you can make it to file before her interview date. By all means do so. I think they will mostly likely return all the older ITR and only take the recent 1 year/3 years. At least I have seen them getting return in the Singapore Embassy. They only took 2012 ITR.

Use current pay stubs, letter from employer and 2013 W-2. Current income is most important. Also, showing several years of taxes to prove your income is stable and ongoing should be a plus.

Your 2012 income, plus your 2012 employment insurance, plus your 2013 W-2, plus your proof of your 2014 current sustained income should put you over the top.

However, my advice is to play it safe and to build the best financial case that you can. If you can't submit your 2013 income tax return, here's what I would attempt to submit:

1. 2010 / 2011 / 2012 income tax returns.

2. 2010 / 2011 / 2012 / 2013 W-2's.

3. Proof of 2012 employment insurance income.

4. Proof of 2014 income (pay stubs, etc).

5. Employer's letter.

6. Bank statements.

7. I-134.

You likely won't have to go so far as submitting proof of equity in your home.

Also, tax transcripts are optional, but if you submit tax transcripts in place of the tax returns and the W-2's, make sure you have the tax returns and W-2's available to submit.

You could also have your joint sponsor's documents available, but there is probably somewhat less than a 50/50 chance that they would be accepted. Have your joint sponsor fill out an I-864 instead of an I-134.

In my opinion, attending the interview would give you an edge.

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey.

~ Tahoma
