Just called DOS per your suggestion Jessica and Anna (despite the unwavering "no status" on our application at CEAC.) At last, success!!! DOS confirmed that the Embassy HAS finally scheduled our interview - Feb 21 at 10 am!!! Told us not to worry about the no status, updating the website sometimes lags. They suggested we will most likely receive our appointment letter in the next couple weeks, but to call (the embassy) if we don't see it by then. What a great weight I feel lifted off us!! Thank you so much to all of you for helping us get through this nerve wracking time!

Rob and Adrian

That is awesome!

Are you near london? Only reason I ask is that I am desperate for a 10 am appointment, as Im from Northern Ireland, and I was hoping they were being sensible in giving you a later time, because maybe you lived a good distance away?

K1 AOS:

May 22nd: Sent away AOS package Day 1

May 27th: Notification via text/email confirming receiving package. Day 5

May 29th: NOA's recieved on 29th May Day 7

June 2nd: Biometrics appointment for June 16th arrives. Day 11

June 16th: Successful Biometrics. Day 24

In Edinburgh, so not really practical to try to arrive same day, we've booked a flight and hotel the day before so we'll be fresh and ready to go the day of the appt. It seems lots of people have 8 am appointments so this was the first 10 am appt we've seen. Kinda doubt that they take the time to see where you're from to determine a convenient time to make your appointment, that might be a bit too good to be true!!

Hi Guys,

I got my letter in the post today! Interview Feb 11th at 9am! Finally!

Thanks for all your advice.

Claire

Lucky you lol, I never got an appointment letter or it never came so I had to email the embassy so they could email me it, I don't understand why they can't do that anyway it's faster safer and garunteed to arrive. Anyway make sure you pay the visa fee before your interview

Talking of helpful vs unhelpful people at DOS, see this recent post:

I hope, for everyone's sake, that this is not true.

We got our appointment confirmation letter in the mail yesterday. Now we just sit back and wait for the interview... smile.png

I just got back from mine it's the most nerve racking thing I've ever been through, got approved though the first guy seemed kinda rude but the last interview the lady was lovely couldn't of been any nicer an was really interested in our relationship, which I think helps.

Congratulations on your approval, less than two weeks before my interview! What type of questions did they ask?

Basically got in the embassy sat down for ages got called to the desk where an American guy took all the paper work explained a few things and told me to take a seat and wait to be called back again. Then I was called and this time I had a very nice American lady she asked me where I met Jessica, when did we decide we wanted to marry?, have I met her family?, do she have a brother? Is her older or younger? How did you propose? I just suggest you don't lie to them cause they are very nice.

You don't lie full stop. I don't need to explain the consequences of lying under oath to a Consular Officer, do I?

Is what said? "I suggest you don't lie to them" was a word of advice as they'll know. Don't understand why you made it sound like I broke a law
