Anyone who has been to drug ridden neighborhoods knows the consequences of this #######..

So, if there are so many drug-ridden neighborhoods, what do you see the drug war as having accomplished thus far?

Do you really think there would ne LESS drug use without the war on drugs?

If some drug use were decriminalized, there would, by definition, be less crime :)

Sure, less crime but more drug use.

What I see is a failure of laws and law enforcement measures used in the US.. Police with their hands tied behind their back. Criminals and drug dealers who's right are defended by mobs like the ACLU. Why not take all of any convicted drug cartels assets and money? You know why not, because I am certain there is some sort of protection of their rights.

The struggle between law enforcement and criminals (civilized and the bad) has gone on for thousand of years. The liberal view of if you cannot beat them join them has been invalidated throughout history and has always lead to the collapse of a society. American Liberals are not the first of their kind..

PS Was is not the liberals in the 60's who started all of this it is cool to take drugs #######..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I actually do. No more pushers, no more quick cash off this #######. Takes away the incentive of getting into "the business". Well, it actually eliminates "the business" altogether. Less pushing, less using. Pretty simple.

What about the negative consequences of drug use? Pushers are only a small fraction of the problem.

For me personally, who would be stupid enough to use ###### like that just to get a quick fix..

Sure, I could buy White Horse and drink more Whiskey than drinking decent Single Malt Scotch - instead of paying $40.00 or so for a 750ml bottle, I could have 1.5l for less than $25.00. But I don't do that. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean people will buy and use more of it.

Take teenage drinking for a second. Pretty popular among US teens, no? Now go to Europe and see what excitement you'll get out of a crowd of highschoolers when offering them beer. They can buy it and drink it if they so please starting at age 16. Teenage drinking is nowhere near as bad in, say, Germany as it is here in the US. All things being equal, beer doen't eeven taste good when you're 16 or 17. Some things are interesting just for one reason: they're off limits. ;)

I strongly disagree.

We don't monitor people's alcohol or tobacco usage....we shouldn't monitor their drug usage either. If they're stupid enough to just get dopen up, then natural selection, eh?

Seriously though, I disagree with drugs being illegal, but I wasn't clear to say that this guy seems seedy to look to turn a profit. I could respect him a lil more if he were just giving the info away....but with the profit involved, his 'cause' just seems to be making money.

Less organized crime. look at alcohol prohibition as a perfect example. Al Capone et al. There is less per capita drug use in the Netherlands than the US and it (soft drugs) decriminalized there.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
