Hi, I have a question aboutt he I-864 as well.

For tax year 2012 I made 26,000 but this year I only made $6,000 since I changed jobs.

I understand I need a joint sponsor. My brother didn't want to help me so my dad suggested my mom. My dad can't because he is self-employed and doesn't have pay stubs. My mom is retired however, she has about 80,000 in savings. Can I use her savings as assets?

Thanks in advance for any help! I really want my husband to come to the U.S.

it's not how much you make in the year total, it's how much your current salary is. If you change jobs and only make 6k but are being paid $30/hr, that is better.

No, I make $11 an hour teaching ESL online. I'm in Ecuador so $11 was enough for my husband and I.

I was reading the AOS and it looks like I can use my mom's assets. My husband and I will be sharing a household with my parents. She is retired now but was recieving unemployment benefits before retiring. Does she fill out the line that says retired from (company) or unemployed since (date)?

I apologize if these seem like easy answers but I just really want to be sure and not make any mistakes or delay my husband's visa because I give birth in April and my last travel date is late Feb and i really need him to be by my side when I give birth!

yes you only need to submit the last one but they need all 3 numbers for the I-864. Also because your mother is not a spouse of the beneficiary she needs 5x the assets, not just 3x.

Her and my dad have a house, a mechanic shop and like $80,000 in savings. all together i think it's almost $600,000 in assets. She should fill out I-864A, I fill out I-864, and since my mom is married to my dad and they both own the house and mechanic shop, should my dad fill out any forms as well?
