I am not really sure. I have been enjoying my break from the immigration process and have only returned here recently when it came time to create the I-751 package. Our AOS process was kind of similar. Things happened pretty fast except for the wait at the NSC. I created this post to follow the amount of time required. Take care and good luck to you too.

Amid all this confusion, I thought I'd phone "support". I started simply by asking what the fee for I-751 was.

Her - "$205"

Me - "OK, but the website says $275"

long pause while she checks

Her - "Yes, $275."

Me - "So the forms that say $205 are wrong?"

Her - "Er, it's $205 + $75 for biometrics"

Me - "So if I send a cheque for $275 it's not going to get rejected?"

Another long pause

Her - "No, the fee is $275"

I'm paraphrasing, since I got her to tell me maybe half a dozen times.

I also suggested they update the forms.

So, although not filled with total confidence, I sent the single cheque for $275.

I'll let you know if mine was cashed. This is through Nebraska.

Ives,

The entire downloaded form from the USCIS website is 4 pages of instructions and 2 pages that must be filled out so 6 pages total. We filled out the 2 pages and just sent those if that is what you are asking. We did not send the 4 pages of instructions.

Update to our I-751 process.

Biometrics were taken yesterday at the ASC center in Denver. It was a full set of fingerprints and picture. We arrived 20 minutes early and our number was called within 5 min of the scheduled appointment. The process took 10-15 minutes because Marilyn's prints were not coming through that well.

Now I guess we wait to see if we are called for another interview or the new 10 yr green card arrives in the mail. Either way I think we have another 4-6 months to wait.

Take care, Marilyn and Peter.

Here's our update: NOA and biometrics appt. letters arrived same day, 1/20. Biometrics appt is for 1/30.

Barring a 6 for 6 snowstorm for the Denver metro area we should be able to make the drive down from Boulder. I looked at the processing times for I-751's out of Nebraska and they were working on July 16, '06. Not bad.... I still wonder why we have to go through biometrics again though, this will be my husband's third time doing this. Do fingerprints change all that much in 2 1/2 years?????
