Woman raped in her own garage

If I wanted to buy a gun, I would purchase a smart gun. My wife doesn't like guns and we have an infant son, so no guns in our household for now.

This sounds like a good idea, but of course anything that can reduce gun violence by not arming everyone is a terrible idea.

Some are, some aren't. I happen to think most of the right wing psychos here are like this irl. It's easy to call out a troll elsewhere.

I can see some folks with guns at the dinner table because you know food tends to act up like in those commercials.

Ban Garages!!!

Why has no one else thought of this?

Agreed, you would think gun folks would want this. But of course they'd have to admit the possibility that their gun COULD end up in someone else's hands. Good luck!

All garages do is provide shelter to America's true deadliest weapon - the motor vehicle.

Next, ban gloves and shoes.

They provide shelter for hands and feet, which are also deadly.

Wake up, America. You bunch of sheep.

Since I got thread banned from the other one and have no other place to post this,

I keep seeing the claim that no Vermont police officer has ever been killed by gunfire in the line of duty... which I find amazing.

Is this site incorrect then? Am I missing something?

That was you? I was wondering who Charles was talking about. You're a bad girl...

Looks legit to me. But what do I know?

These Quick Draw McGraws seem to blithely ignore that most rape is not stranger-in-the-garage rape. It's someone's boyfriend (or girlfriend), a spouse, a friend, a date. It's in a situation where most people are unlikely to even consider a weapon necessary. As someone who is a survivor of sexual violence and who knows far too many people who are as well, hearing that somehow it was my fault that I wasn't packing heat is disgusting and yet another example of victim-blaming. I'm going to repeat Novembro's line again:

This is the problem. Not women choosing not to be armed all the time. This whole thread needs a trigger warning on it.

Sorry to hear that maven.

But folks that toe the line with this type of thinking aren't thinking at all.
