NRA: It Is Time To Arm Our Guns

FAIRFAX, Vir. (CAP) - This week the NRA's Wayne LaPierre made what many are calling his most provocative and least logical statement to date when he suggested that the best way to protect Americans from gun violence would be for gun-owners to purchase guns for their guns.

"I've previously said that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun," LaPierre told reporters during a press conference outside the NRA's Fairfax, VA headquarters. "But I'd like to add that a good guy with a gun that itself has a gun would make us all that much safer."

He continued, "Or, if a bad guy had a gun, but his gun was also armed with a gun, and could use it shoot him, that would work too."

LaPierre added that he was against guns having to submit to background checks before they were able to purchase their own guns.

"Our constitution protects the right of arms to bear arms," he said. "I'm pretty sure that's in there somewhere."

He added that he had not yet decided his opinion of the right of guns' guns to have their own firearms, but that the option "is not off the table."

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"
