I just called the NVC to see if they have my case yet, and was told their computers are down. She said that's probably related to the error some people were getting when looking up their case number on the site yesterday.

21 Sep 2013 - Filed i-129F

27 Nov - NOA2 email received (63 days since NOA1)

30 Jan 2014 - NOA2 sent to NVC (64 agonizing days) P.S. Apparently VJ doesn't care about accurate timelines.

11 Feb - Got Case number

24 Feb - Packet 3 Received and Submitted

25 Feb - Packet 4 Received and Submitted

29 Apr - Medical (Dr Cheema)

01 May - Vancouver Consulate Interview - Approved!

06 May - Visa in hand!

06 June - Entered the USA!

14 June - Married!

What do they actually do at the NVC? Of all the steps the NVC appears to be the weakest and most mysterious step.

Someone, on the forums, said it is only a formality when K1 visas are concerned.

We want our wedding to be in the April, but if the NVC takes as long as others are reporting, we will not make it.

Thanx

Until recently I was seeking a K1 for my Burmese fiancé.

2013 07 13 Engagement
2013 10 11 Sent i129F to USCIS
2013 10 18 Received NOA1 from USCIS
2013 11 12 Received RFE notice - Almost decided to change the venue to Thailand. Sat on the RFE for about three weeks before proceeding.2013 12 20 RFE answer package received by USCIS
2013 12 23 NOA2 received from USCIS
2014 01 14 After demonstrating the hate Americans have tward the chidfree, my fiancé has no desire to visit the USA.

Going forward, I will sell off my remaining assets in the USA. I doubt I will ever return. Americans are second only to the French when it comes to rudeness.

As far as K-1s are concerned, they receive your package, input your information into the computer, assign you a case-number, and then forward your package to the embassy that you will use to apply for your visa.

I see.

Yours "breezed through" the NVC. Good for you! Your interview is next week.

Good luck, and remember it is never more than six days to Friday!
