Long story short, I came to the USA 2 years ago on a K1 visa, (K2 for my daughter).
Got married, had a baby while going through hell and still no AOS.
My husband has been verbally, emotionally and sometimes physically abusive with me.
I'm pretty sure he is a narcissist, passive aggressive and seems to have other psychological issues.

He treats me like a slave, he doesn't care about the baby's well being, he would throw a tantrum and humiliate me anywhere and for no reason, he insults me and my family everyday and demands sexual favors just for taking me to the groceries store as if it was a favor to me.
I don't even want to go on...I need to know step by step how to file for VAWA. Can I do it by myself? I have no money or resources, I don't even know how to drive and he is always around since he works night shifts.
Please help me with guidance.

Your husband is the same as my wife, I've been here 6 years and I can tell you nothing changes. I'm glad you are seeking help now rather than waiting. You don't have to tell me about him because they all follow the same script/pattern. You can bet your bottom dollar (no you can't because your abusive spouse doesn't give you any money, just like mine) that he also has borderline.

Forget him doing AOS he claims more as "head as household", he'll never do it for you.

Good luck and congratulations for doing VAWA.

Read all of this don't think oh damn I can't do it.

Note: this is an outline of what to do, many VAWA cases are slightly different. I am not a lawyer and write this on what I've learned to give you a jump start on what to expect. You should join vawa part 4 thread for better information. Don't solely use the information below for your VAWA case and get problems then come back to bite my butt, I may have left very important things out.

I was not given correct information 4 years ago so I abandoned VAWA then. I'm starting again with the correct information. I hope you dont wait 4 years because it doesn't get any better.

Even if you are trying to keep your family together through all the madness/abuse go for your EAD as quick as possible, you could at least get a part time job.

Like sandranj said it is best to join the vawa part 4 thread. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/435545-vawa-part-4/page-182

You can do VAWA yourself and many people do. You will have to do yours yourself with the help from the VAWA thread part 4 community.

You will have to fill forms in for immigration each comes with a price don't worry you will get them free by filling in a fee waiver form.

At some stage you will get a Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to allow you to work. People will tell you to do AOS which means at some time you will do a medical, costs around $600. You pay for this after using Employment Authorization Document to get work.

Step 1:

Write out an affidavit saying how you met and fell in love with your spouse. Include copies of marriage certificate, spouse social security card etc. Proof of living together (again difficult for you). Usually 15 pages long on average.

Step 2:

Write out the details of abuse. You should have proof of the abuse in your situation it will be hard to get details of proof.

Step 3: You will need to see a psychologist this again is going to be very difficult for you.

Step 4: You will need police clearance.

Step 4: Fill out forms

I-765 http://www.uscis.gov/i-765 Employment authorization.

I-485 http://www.uscis.gov/i-485 AOS

I- 360 http://www.uscis.gov/i-360

I- 192 http://www.uscis.gov/i-192 Fee waiver

Send to your nearest center I dont know yours the guys in VAWA part 4 can help.
