Hm. My suggestion would be is to postpone the interview and figure out what is going on between you guys. Just as it happens with many people here, being apart and working on the paperwork can cause a lot of anger and frustration. However if you up to the point that you considering abandoning the petition, then maybe the issue is in your relationship and it should be carefully reconsidered.

With all that being said, I would like to say that when my fiancée went for her interview, even though she had plenty of proof of my income, the embassy didn't take any of it. They didn't even look at it. All they took was my I-134.

hi everyone! I just want to ask some help about our status.... Im sorry i don't have a timeline but I'm going to have my interview nextweek.... the problem is we lack w2 and tax returns from petitioner and cosponsor. He lost our noa2. no paystubs sent to me..... lack of employment letter. we only have a list on how much he earned last 2013 from both of his job..... It's been months and I'm reminding him everyday about the papers but until now he haven't completed it yet.... we will just end up fighting at the end of the day.... He is really hard headed, he don't listen on what we need. he is lazy to complete the papers.... Im so frustrated right now and sad, but I think canceling the petition will be the best way so i can be stress free..... Cause i know if he is really willing to marry me, he will do everything but it seems that he is tired processing the papers.... What should i do?

My husband HATES paperwork. I also don't like paperwork and during the whole duration of our K1 I would ask a lot from him such as the I134 and even just that he HATED it. He would whine about how stupid it is that we had to prove our relationship and why at times I would ask him to write stuff or compile things. I hate it when he gets annoyed for the simple stuff but I had to lengthen my patience and do things and I told him what to do next in the nicest manner I could and gave positive reinforcements every time he finishes something for the petition. I think he has carefully understood the need for paperwork and how meticulous it can get because he did not make as much of a fuss as before when we filed AOS. Of course I did most of the stuff but I explained to him the importance of each document each time I would ask for him to produce it and answer his questions as much as I can.

True enough that you are asking for all the things and are compiling and organizing but don't forget that he is going through the immigration journey also. I don't know how he sees it and you should ask him how he sees things not only now but in the future after the K1 process. He may be the same lazy person when it comes to filing or an unorganized guy after you are married. Would you be able to live with that? Are you going to think of divorce because he gets annoyed of having to wait for you to shop? Those are overly exaggerated questions but really something like compiling things is a mere bump on the road of being married. You are yet to go through the different terrains.

Re-evaluate your feelings for each other especially yours as what others have said. In a third party's view (my view for example), it is a sign of unpreparedness and somewhat immaturity because you are quitting because of frustration and to think you have gotten so lucky with the speed of the petitions. It does not create a good image for you just because you are the one who wants to cancel the petition and not the other way around. This is how the things are appearing to me and that's just me but with that just consider how would a consular (who's prolly a counselor or psychologist) see it. I say that because sometimes even if we don't want to say these things, they just have their ways of getting to it.

TALK, TALK, TALK. You will argue at times because that's hard to avoid. Think whether it still is healthy for the relationship because the frequency and intensity of arguments can affect your life dearly. These are just standard procedures for immigration and not even the meat and potatoes of your life "together"

Just don't go to the interview. Sending the Embassy an email would also be wise.

Many folks seem to think just because a person hates paperwork then that is an acceptable behavior for the petitioner.....it is not.

Paperwork is a whole part of the entire visa process and the petitioner should be the one who puts their selfish feelings aside and performs their part in the process....to burden the beneficiary with this is unacceptable, IMO.

Yes give the petitioner an ultimatum....but people don't change. It's your decision; many prospective fiances want a man (or woman) who is organized....meaning good with peperwork and dealing with rules and regulations. Sounds like this person doesn't fit your criteria for that.

Don't let "love" get in the way of planning for a future together which goes above and beyond your "love" for each other. Living life and everytihing that comes with it is best handled together; it is foolish to think you can "will" your relationship to be one.

i'm sorry to hear about your situation. and yes, your petitioner's ITR and W2 is required during the interview... my fiance is also whining about the paperworks and we do argue sometimes but in the end he had no choice but to comply with everything or else we won't be together. in your case, i agree with one comment here that i'd still go to the interview and just comply with the lacking papers (just make sure it'll not take long or pass the deadline).

anyway, are you from Cadiz, Negros Occidental?

he dont have tax return but he have a proof that he is making more than enough.....

Its a check history report. It shows that he made 20000+ $ on his regular job and 9000+ on his second job..... its shows his gross wages, federal tax, med tax, deductions, benefits and net wages.....

When you say hle doesn't have a tax return, do you mean he does not have a copy of his tax return after he filed or did he never file at all? Edited by aaron2020

I really don't get how people can complain about paperwork. Out of all the things we do in life, making the effort to bring our spouses home is the easiest! Sounds like there are just some lazy people. How many hours are spent in front of the tv...compare that to how many hours it takes to do a little paperwork. Doesn't compare. I will do any amount of paperwork it takes to get my love home and so should those who love their spouses!

I am just wondering why you refer to him as just "petitioner" instead of fiance or bf. Im sorry to say this but it sounds to me as if there is no feeling at all but I might be wrong that is why I said sorry.

On the other hand, I thinks some of VJers will agree with me that during the course of paper preparations there are always arguments and delays considering of time difference plus the work that your "petitioner" have. Doing one job is tough what more having two thats even tough. That means he has only few minutes for himself and all he wants to do once home is to eat and sleep ( my husband is like that and he only has 1 job) much more to do paper works. Plus since he works two job that means he needs to find time off to go to federal offices on work days to request the needed papers which is very hard to do. (you will understand what I am saying once you are here). I understand your situation, yes it will be stressful sometimes but be patient. It really takes time.

My husband hired lawyers to do all the paper preparation but we were still the one will secure paper proof they needed and it is stressful but we did it successfully. Others dont have lawyers and they did well in the end. Patience and endurance is needed here. Remember Love choose no boundaries.

DOnt be too hard on him. You need more patience. In a relationship you need that. Instead of thinking it as a stressful journey, think of it as just one hurdle that you both need to undergo because Im pretty sure there will be more :-) (thats my unsolicited advice)

I'm sorry for you.

I understand that people loose their Noa2, but what I don't understand it's that doesn't seem to bother him. Maybe he hide it?

The U.S. Embassy Manila will require you to submit your petitioner's I-134 and your petitioner's 2012 income tax return and W-2. It is usually acceptable to submit a tax transcript instead of a tax return and a W-2.

Most likely, the U.S. Embassy Manila will also require you to submit a few of your petitioner's current paycheck stubs.

The chance of the U.S. Embassy accepting a K-1er's joint sponsor is somewhere less than 50%.

Go without the tax return to see whay happen, maybe they dont ask for them.

You seriously need to stop giving advice, over and over you give wrong advice in this forum. There is a 100% chance they will ask for the documentation.

I totally agree with this. It also amazes me how many petitioners leave it up to the beneficiary to compelete all the paper work. I could never imagine leaving that up to my fiance to do. Especially since English is not her first language, even though she knows it very well. I will and have done anything I can to be with my Fiance and eventually bring her here to be with me. I never once was too busy to do what was required. What is a little sacrifice now for a lifetime of happiness? Was it a hassle? Yes, and some things have taken longer than I liked, but I always did what was required. I was even initially denied after waiting 5 months, so I started over and spent even more time researching, gathering info, double, and triple checking everything. All I did was think how in the end it will all be worth the effort and compared to most trials in life, this is really not that big of a hassle or too much to ask of me to do. If this process is too much for someone to do, then imagine what will happen when other bigger obstacales are encountered down the road in life. Honestly, if this is too much for someone to do, then I have to question how important the relationship or person is to the petitioner.

Paperwork is very frustrating and lots of time consuming but when you are on a log distance relationship and you plan to bring your partner to the States paperwork is a MUST....it is all that it is into this process especially if you decide to do it on your own and not hire an attorney or notary public....my thoughts to you is to really think about all you have gone through with this guy if you think he can or wants to change...you say he is hard headed and today it may be with the paperwork tomorrow could be with anything else in life...At the end it is your decision....there is always a 50 chance but it is always better to go to the interview prepared...with the tax returns it depends on how they want to see how he can support you...also since you mentioned he does not have many things to prove employment they could probably ask those tax returns......wish you the best
