So I sent off my AOS papers as well as the EAD Work Permit application on the 4th. With the K1 we were able to track its progress online with a case number. Is that possible to do with the AOS? Do you get a new case number or some other way to check in on any progress or case updates? Is there also any seperate tracking for the work permit application process?

Thanks! Can't wait to get a work permit sorted, as nice as it's been resting, I have started to miss working. Plus the money income will be all the more helpful! :)

Did you sent g-1145 together with the forms? If not you have to wait until you get your two noa1 to get your reference number and you'll be able to track it on case status part of uscis website (same as with k-1). NOA1 usually takes a bit longer to arrive than it did with I-129F.

You will get separate case numbers for i-485 and EAD.

Ah I see. Yeah I did send the email notification form with the whole thing. I haven't had any emails yet, the package arrived on the 8th so I guess I should hear something back soon?

Yes, give them few weeks, they are not as good as K-1 staff with updates apparently.

Yes, and don't freak out if your case never gets updated at all. It happens. The MSC is notorious for not updating their online tracking system in a reliable manner. My cases (AOS, EAD, AP) all were in "Case Not Found" status until the day they got approved.

So I received an electronic update with 2 tracking numbers today. According to the USCIS tracking website, one is for the "I765 APPLICATION" and the other is for a "fingerprint fee" but there's nothing (yet) about the I485. Is this normal? Looking for some light to be shed on this part

if you read the title above the description of fingerprint fee on dark blue background it will say Your Current Case Status for Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Edited by agnesb

You should be able to guess the receipt number for the I-485, for me it was the first number in sequence in the package. I also didn't get a NOA-1 for the the I-485 but the biometrics state it is for both and the I-485 is sitting in Acceptance, which seems a common occurrence and it can often remain there right until the end despite what the USCIS says about 2 business days.

i got texts for each application I submitted containing an MSC number and then got the NOA letter(s) a few days later (for for each application) - you can track progress on the USCIS site using the MSC receipt number.
