Hi everyone,

I'm new here. After waiting and waiting and waiting, I felt I needed some moral support, so I found this forum.

My fiancé and I met in 2006, and there were definitely sparks, but we did not start a relationship because I was dating someone. We try to maintain contact online, but he had very limited access to the Internet in his English was not very good writing, so it was nearly impossible.

When I returned in Dec 2012, I was single but he was not. He, however, was in what he calls a "traditional "marriage. It was arranged. Both were miserable, and they have since divorced.

I have some questions/concerns. We have submitted our paperwork, and we are now just waiting for an interview to be scheduled. I have noticed that some others have said that their fiancés were told they must get a second TB test. Does anyone know why? Also, my fiancée lives in a very small village in southern Egypt. He does not have a street address. When they requested documentation for packet three, they emailed it to me. I doubt seriously that they will email me to schedule an interview for him. What if DHL won't/can't deliver to his address??

Good luck, everyone!

you will be notify VIA Emial for the appointment. the second TB may be requested together with a new police report only if it passed 6 month. right now they working fast on the cases. DHL will deliver any where in Egypt trust me, but make sure the phone is right. you really need the DHL ONLY WHEN YOU submit the requested information, such as the medical, i-134 birth certificates and all other requested documentations.

My husband is from a somewhat rural area and also did not have a real address. It was a street name and building name. DHL called him to come pick up his packet 3 and then later on his passport with visa in it. Like the pp said, just make sure the embassy has his correct and most recent phone number.

I wanted to bump this thread because I have some new information about this. My fiance did not receive any packet of information in the mail. It was EMAILED to us and included different things from what was listed above. Only DS-130 (to be completed online) and not the other forms. And it did not request a military service record. Just FYI. smile.png

This was also how I was contacted for Packet 3. The embassy emailed me, the petitioner. My fiancé never received anything.

Thank you for the information, fedo. When we were contacted about packet three, I was the one who was emailed. My fiancé never received anything. His email account has since stopped functioning. His phone number has not changed, but his email address has. Should he call the embassy to have his email address changed? Just whom should he speak about that?

yes , what you should do is email the embassy in Cairo, have him put the case number and request them to update his information

now my question did you receive the appointment date yet? also note on the web of the American embassy in cairo they post all the interview with case number .

No Fedo, he has not received an appointment date yet. When he emailed the consulate, he received an email back that said the mailbox was full. I also emailed two days later, and received the same response. He tried calling, but no one answers the phone. It is incredibly frustrating.

Ours was valid for six months after his medical was performed. So, he got his visa on February 4, 2014, but it was only good until June 8. That's because his medical examination was from December 8 (or thereabouts).
