Need help..... Don't have any sponsor in US

Hi VJers

I've filed I-130 for my spouse. I got NOA2 on dec 27, 2013 and our file is now at NVC. My concern is that we don't have any sponsor in US. Can anybody suggest me how we can show our assets from India and what type of assets we can use. Thanks in advance.

Money and you will need 3 times the amount so if there's just two of you you are looking at needing $60,000 in the bank.

Go to the NVC filers thread read post #1 and #2 to get all you need to get through NVC.

Did u get your case number already because I got approved on Dec 27 too but I didn't get my case number yet.

The assets have to be readily convertible to cash - in the US.

Foreign assets are a tough sell.

Hi I can share my experience and what I did. When I was submitting my I 864 my ex wife didn't have much income and I was not employed in US at that time as I was going thru my AOS. So what I did I sent my india tax returns for last 2 years personal and company and my 3 months bank statements and a letter from my accountant that he does my accounting and I can cover all my expenses in America. The USCIS accepted it and signed off on the rife. I was working with a lawyer. If you have a lawyer discuss with him. Hope this helps.

I haven't filed tax for 2012 , so which form we have to use for AOS. Should I use I-864 and enter my spouse's assets on part 6,7,8 and 9 of I-864? He can show cash in his account. Is that will be sufficient?

But thats different you were gong through adjustment of status totally different. You were already here. Some embassies will let you self-sponsor rarely. You didn't have to go through the embassy I doubt if they would have accepted.

You are required to file last 3 years taxes. Or explain why you were not required. Remember assets is 3X so he needs for 2 in household at least $60,000 sitting in bank.
