Hello everyone. I received my case number on DEC 30th but till today I am not able to log in to fill out DS-261. Did anyone had to wait this long? Every time I call NVC, I receive different answer, wait one week, wait 10-20 business days, wait one month. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Once NVC receives the case... it takes about 3-4 weeks for them to upload the file and review it. Once you get the case number, provide your email ID and your beneficiary. Soon as they review and make 261 and AOS fee ready, you will get email right away. I would ask if any agent has picked up your case or not. If not then its still waiting to be reviewed.

Also, your status says you got ur NVC number. It takes about 1-2 weeks after you get BMB number.

Hey thanks for the reply. So according to your timeline did you get your case number on dec 6 and then you got ds261 on dec 30?

For me, it took 2 weeks to generate NVC case number and then another week for them to review and generate the fee's. Like I said... soon as they generate the fee's... you and your beneficiary will get email to pay the fee's and fill out agent form.

I have seen ppl getting ds261 within couple of days after getting case number so I was just wondering what's going on with my case since it has already been 10 days. May be soon....

Do not count weekends. It's been 7 business days tops, and likely you shouldn't count new years eve either since many people probably took the day off.

This is so frustrating, I have seen people who got their case number after me has already filled out DS-261 and I can't even log in :(
