I was hoping someone could give me some clarity/information on my family's situation. My sister-in-law is 20 and my mother-in-law filed a I-130 for her with the NOA -1 accecptance letter being received on 10/13/13. She turns 21 in April 2014. What are the chances that she gets an approval before her birthday? What should we be looking for? What can we do? Lastly, my mother-in-law became an LPR around June of 2013. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hello, your only chance to make it happen is by requesting USCIS to expedite her petition as she is aging out. You may send them an urgent email request. If you're lucky that they happen to go over your case and realize that she is aging out, they will expedite it themselves by bypassing NVC and sending it directly to your local embassy (I have seen it happen to some here in VJ). But don't rely on pure luck, you should be proactive. You should check out this helpful post: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/110679-child-aging-out-cspa-may-help/. Good luck!

PS: You might also want to start a new thread to get more attention. Cheers! idea9dv.gif

They will not expedite your sis-in-law's case with NVC unless her Priority Date is CURRENT in the Visa Bulletin.

Oh you're right. So it's probably too late for her. I guess they just hope her PD becomes current before April 2014. Highly unlikely but still possible.

They cannot compute CSPA age unless the PD becomes current first. Until then it's a waiting game.
