How is it that they are transferring their receipt numbers in no particular order ?

I understand that batches of 1000 are being processed per day, but why not do it in ascending/increasing/upwards order ?

They are literally taking random cases, transferring in a NOT-FIFO fashion and operating in a state of complete chaos.

What is this banana republic ?

Yeah, it's infuriating. It's one of the reasons I stayed away from VJ for a while. I couldn't handle seeing cases submitted months after mine and getting approved before me. In fact it still bothers me. I really only check the March filers thread now.

How do you know its random? In addition to the NBC and NVC, there are four service centers. Everyone is processed (per visa type) in the order i comes in. There are over 400,000 CR1/IR1 applicants out there....then theres everyone else. Our applications require the most time and effort, and in this particular line are unfortunately way too many people who didn't study the process and/or didn't prepare nor send all of their supporting documents with their petitions, who are now getting RFE's, and there are alot of folks out there all over the world who have special circumstances that require more time attention. If we're all in the same lines, the people in front of you or I might be those people. It is what it is unfortunately. Trust that once your I-130 is approved, this happens very very quickly. Try to stay focused in preparing paperwork for everything thats ahead of you because the timeline going forward really for the most part, will be set by how quickly you turn documents back around. Just my opinion. Oh and one more note....remember that the USCIS website falls short of being kept up so timelines seem to be off. And keep in mind that VJ is one of many Immigration blog type sites.....in the grand scheme, we are a drop in the bucket!

Most likely there is a FIFO distribution somewhere up front that distributes it to one of many similar pipelines that are each FIFO with the normal issues that cause an application to be pulled here for a while and there for a while.. When you check the endpoint it is only "kinda" FIFO. If you want it FIFO end to end every app would be the same speed as the slowest app in the system.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Nothing more frustrating than finding out they are processing people who filed two months after you to keep the "average" processing time down. Differing processing speeds of the various service centres we are being transferred to doesn't help either. I know I was really lucky to get CSC. I hope those of you waiting get approved really soon.

It really isn't fair! People who filed after me are getting approved already and it makes no sense. Even if I did suppose have..an RFE, I should have gotten it already! I don't even know what to say. So tired of hearing that they are processing only Feb 13 Filers!

I know its random because I actually bothered to look through the receipt numbers (in batches) and empirical evidence proves that they leave out receipt numbers willy nilly and move onto transferring batches that are not consecutive. I am a computer scientist by profession and I consider myself sane enough (whatever sane means right now) to identify nonsensical patterns of processing.

Also CSC, NSC and TSC dont have anything to do with decision making about who gets transferred.

They are recipients of the transfer. What does the fact that they exist have anything to do with the transfer ?

NBC is where they are transferring and they are doing it like they're on crack cocaine.

What does the number of cR1/IR1 applicants have anything to do with the order in which they are processed ??

What does RFEs etc have to do with processing first-in first-out ?

Why not process them in a certain order ? They're mixing up PDs to the point where people with PDs from later in the month are being processed than those with PDs from earlier dates for no damn reason.
