Is anybody residing in new orleans and trying to adjust their status. I filed to adjust my status in october. my packet was received october 8th. I got a RFE on november 1st and replied Dec 4th, it was received by USCIS on dec 6th. I am yet to receive my work authorization. I finally called USCIS yesterday and they told me that they will request that the local office here send me an interim ID which i could use to seek employment and they said i should hear from my local office within 15 days.

Has anyone else every experienced this? Can any other NO resident tell me about their AOS experience? Has anyone ever heard of this interim ID before this is the first im hearing of it?

Would love to hear some feedback.

I think the interim ID you refer to is the EAD. It's valid for working until you get your GC, at which time you are supposed to surrender your EAD card.
