Hello,

since this is similar question, I decide to ask question along too. My case I-130 has been approved and was forwarded to NVC. I have not received NVC assign case # yet, but expect it soon. My question is assuming after finish all paper work and pay fee to NVC, assuming everything correctly submitted to VNC. Can I go back to my visit my spouse and stay there until she get interview date set so I can go with her to the interview and assuming interview passed and visa approved so she and I can come back to USA along with me. Do you think is there any problem or any paper work that NVC need from me after submitted all the documentation? Thanks

Hello Khmerboy,

Assuming everything is good at NVC, you will receive an appointment e-mail or letter (if you do not have e-mail).

Then you can go to Cambodia and stay until interview if you like.

Common practice is to buy round trip ticket for yourself but leave the return date as open.

Your wife can come to the US anytime after she is granted a visa. Now you can go to travel agency in Phnom Penh and buy one way ticket for your wife and have your return date assigned the same date with your wife.

Timeline:

04/05/04 : K1 NSC

08/03/04 : Case approved

10/26/04 : Visa approved

12/09/04 : Fiancee arrives in the US.

12/28/04 : Married in Chicago.

2/25/05 : file AOS and EAD to

3/25/05 : NOAs for both

4/2/05 : fingers print

4/23/05 : received EAD card

7/6/05: NOA for interview in October 2005.

I am the petitioner, my case has been received by NVC on Dec 23rd. Regard police report. when do they need police report was it during visa application DS-260 or during interview? I have submitted while back when I applied I-130. Thanks
