I'm sincerely hoping this is a good sign. I got the "We've assigned you a case number" e-mail this morning from the NVC.

Did it just randomly arrive or did you have to sign up for it somewhere?

While I was looking for something else I just happened to read this question on http://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/fiancee-visa/fiancee-visas

We want to make plans for our wedding. How long will this process take?

Each case is different, please check the current processing times for the I-129F petition, see the “Check Processing Times” page. We process fiancé(e) petitions in the order we receive them. Once we complete our processing, your approved petition is then forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will then send the petition to the U.S. Embassy or consulate, which will need time to process your fiancé(e) for a visa.

I call BS, lol rofl.gif

Not to scare you but you should always factor in delays or ap for visa. September may be close... Some people get their passport and visa right away and others take a month. We've planed ours for spring of 2015 just to be safe. This process is hectic as it is. Planning should be fun. But for us the "wedding party" is in Spring 2015. We will he married in the courts immediately.

Has any Canadians gotten through? Seems like the quick ones are going more by country than by "order".

As far as wedding I planned for end of November. Going by Gov. estimate it should be September but we dded a few months just in case. I was also HIGHLY recommended not to do this. I'm taking a big risk in doing it.

I heard there was a way to get the visa expidited if work was offering them a job? Its something I might look into for my fiancee because a few companies have asked for him but dont want to sponsor.

Let me state this. Now that the initial anger has somewhat dissipated. It is COMPLETELY possible that what they mean is that they're behind, and they're processing it. Which to THEM, is the normal administrative thing to do. Thus, that makes it administrative processing. My status at the CEAC says "at NVC".

In my case, they have to free it by the 21st for us to have any real shot of it BEING at the embassy for the interview. I know that DHL delivery is in the order of 3-5 days. So, if they were routing correctly, and it only took 3 days, that would give us up to the 22nd/23rd depending on what time DHL delivers there.

In short? I hate this!

Don't worry too much about the "AP" status that was given to you. I called this morning and the polite lady at the NVC said the same thing.

She gave me the case number--I check our CEAC case status earlier and it was "In Transit".

It's definitely a good time for K1, in many cases at least.

We got to chose our interview date yesterday, my fiance wants to join me so we chose a later date than available.

In theory, we could've had the visa in hand in exactly two months after the petition was sent :)

Jan 13 - Petition 129F sent

Jan 21 - NOA1

Feb 11 - NOA2

Feb 20 - NVC case number assigned

Feb 24 - Left NVC

Feb 28 - CEAC status Ready

Mar 10 - Medical

Not the visa but once you file for AOS you can get the EAD expedited.

Wow, I looked at your timeline and that IS extremely fast!

Congrats! We have been blessed so far as well because it took less than a month to get our NAO2 hardcopy for the day we got our NAO1.

Still anxious though, and probably will until all is over and well :D

Good luck, guys.
