No, I think that only happens when you get a case number assigned. Which hasn't happened yet. We'll see, and of course, I'll let you know. :-)

*rings bell*

I have a case number!

NO email has been received. We'll see if I get one when the case LEAVES the NVC.

ProTip: If you call the NVC, and after giving them your receipt number they ask for the beneficiaries name and DOB, you have case number! So, be prepared for this.

I wasn't prepared, and (Shh! Don't tell her), I got the fiance's DOB wrong the 1st time. Had to call back, and give them the CORRECT one, then they asked for MY info. And then, gave me the case number.

OK, here are today's call stats:

1st call, had to redial *23* times to not get a busy signal. On hold for 11 minutes.

2nd call, had to redial 11 times, and was on hold for 16 minutes.

Looks like my Visa left NVC, it's currently "in transit"

Though I have a question: It states that "your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." Is this a generic message? I was under the impression the Tokyo Embassy would let me schedule an interview myself, rather than have one provided. I haven't got the required documents yet, still needing the Japanese police certificate.

AOS:

NOA: June 16th, 2014

NPIW: September 29th, 2014

Received Green Card: June 13th, 2015.

RoC:

California Service Center

Submitted: March 22nd, 2017

Completed: October 5th, 2018

N-400:

Submitted: December 11th, 2019

Biometrics: December 31st, 2019

Interview: April 22nd, 2020

Interview descheduled and now waiting for further updates...

I just saw a post about this the other day. Yes, it's generic.

That has been MOST of them that I have gotten. Obviously with us having to dial 10+ times to get through, and then having to hold for 20 minutes, their call volumes are high. In some call centers there is pressure applied to eliminate busy signals, and to get hold times down. If this pressure is being applied to them, it makes sense.

YES! Yes you can. If there are visa fees, you probably have to pay those first, and then you can schedule your interview, and get the medical if required.

Once you have a case #, you can check your status here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Default.aspx?App=IV

We sent our I-129F on January 4 for my fiancée in France and received our NOA1 on January 10th. On January 14th, the website said that an alien registration number was changed, but nothing has changed since that date. Our file is being processed at the California center. Reading all of your posts makes me feel like my file is taking longer. Any other January filers still waiting for the NOA2 decision?

yes there is still some of us who have not receive noa2 yet, myself included sad.png but more noa2 have gone out from cali than texas center probably because they have way more petitioners than cali and thats just considering those who use VJ.

use the timelines; set filter to california then press descending down arrow for noa1 sorts them by date and then change # rows to display to 50 january filers are between pages 1 and 2.

I like to see where i stand and everyone is passing me by.. due to my fault of course for forgetting my beneficiaries letter of intent but i hope to catch up soon and get my noa2.

California filers here, got our NOA1 Jan 13th. No RFE, no NOA2, no nothing. I'm really hoping we get looked at this week. Watching the estimated approval time fly by while everyone else is getting approved and moving on has been so demoralizing. :(

That is tough! Who knows why sometimes they go fast and sometimes they go slow... I feel like this is a lottery! We were lucky but other people's are taking a lot longer (I just read a post from someone in Germany that had been waiting since August but just got their case transferred to NVC) The numbers seem pretty random.

Just keep checking USCIS status (I'm sure you already do that!) and as far as it doesn't mention any RFE you should be good!

It's not even been two months so you're still in a good time frame but I know it gets worse when you see that a lot of other people are getting approved. We were prepared to wait 5 or 6 months so anything less than that was amazing!

Best of luck! We're keeping our fingers crossed! smile.png

OUR TIMELINE (not completed yet!)

I-129F Sent: Dec 20th 2013

I-129F NOA1: Jan 3rd 2014 (notification received by e-mail and text message; hard copy received on Jan 10th)
I-129F NOA2: Jan 27th 2014 (notification through USCIS mailing list; hard copy received on Feb 3rd)
NVC Received: Feb 07th 2014 (verified through phone call; no notification received)
NVC Left: Feb 11th 2014 (CEAC status changed to "in transit"; called NVC to verify)
Processed at Consulate: Feb 20th 2014 (I sent the embassy an e-mail on Feb 18th and they replied Feb 21st saying that they had received my case the day before)
Package 3 received: Feb 21st 2014 (sent by embassy through e-mail attachment; it was a Word document; they usually send it through regular mail)
Package 3 sent: Feb 24th 2014 (received at the consulate Feb 25th; I know this because I sent a certified letter with online tracking)
Interview date: April 30th 2014 (notification received by e-mail on March 21st; hard copy received on March 26th)

Checked the CEAC website to find out the status has been changed to "In Transit"

Per instruction stated on NOA2 (received on 18 Feb), it said I should be expecting a notice from NVC within 30 days.

Since I obtained my case number (via telephone), the notice NVC is referring to should be arriving via email or mail?

I'll continue to check my inbox...

Fiancee is also tracking our journey through a similar visa (k1) internet community based in S. Korea and have been reading conflicting posts.

Any insight from couples planning to schedule their interview date is much appreciated.

Happy Hump Day everyone~
