I did not receive any interview date for GC. Does everyone receive an interview or is it selective? Just want to be sure we didnt miss any mail

Hey Our Destiny....not everyone receives an interview, there is a 50/50 chance that you will have one.

It looks like it is a waiting game for you for the time being. I really hope not for long though :)

Take care..

so happy for everyone that received their EADs and passed their GC interviews!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Good job CJC!!!! Im so happy for you!!! Way to go MaleAlpha!!! And Nurseling, so sorry you had to threaten those uscis peeps with your whip, but it all went well in the end coz you got your EAD within this week so thats grand!!!!

As for us, we got our EADs in the mail last 4/9. There was a slight hiccup as my son's got sorted at the wrong area and we had to pick his up at that other usps office so we can all apply together for SSN. We were running late and hoped for a miracle that we get processed soon and what do you know, the SSA office was completely empty when we got there!!!! What were the odds? Needless to say, we got my 2 kids' papers saying that the SSN card would be mailed out in 1-2 weeks and my SSN is good to go and need not be changed anymore since it is on my married name already and has a note saying VALID for WORK with DHS authorization which the lady said would be my EAD...so it was all good!

Thanks guys for sharing your driving test experiences as that would be helpful for my kids when they do take theirs later in 4/22.

Now, i am off to go job hunting!!! So exciting! Wish me luck guys!!!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!!

Good luck Matey, thanks for the well wish too..:)

Priority date Feb 2. Received EAD yesterday. Interview May 8th.

This is great news for you Fern411, all the best for your interview next month :)

Hi guys, if anyone is interested, I had my AOS interview in Phoenix last Tuesday (04.08.14) with my husband. They asked me some legal questions ("have you ever been convicted of felony" etc) and then asked to see more proof of ongoing relationship. I showed them our wedding and honeymoon albums and they loved it. They approved me on the spot! All in all, it took less than 10 minutes! My green card is now in production, yay! :) :)

Congratulations smtha81...yay for you! :dancing:

hi all,

i just came back from the interview..........so now i am waiting again. hopefully not for long!

best of luck to all!

Hi Jannapa....congratulations on being as far along as you are :)....Hopefully you don't have to wait long to get that GC!

Thank you everyone for being so helpful. What a great resource this forum is for people to get through this process. We just wanted to post another update to our timeline:

Hi pwrinxs - congratulations to you. You are set to go! All the best with everything.....probably will see you in about 21 months time for the ROC....lol :)

To everyone waiting, it won't be long now....keep your chins up and all the best with finding work and settling into your new lives here :) For those of you (like myself) who are taking driving lessons and tests - good luck! beep beep....lol

Thank you CJC. I hope everything goes well for all of us. If the case is solid and all the directions on the forms and requests are followed, the interview should be quick and smooth. In retrospect, I worried a lot more than I needed to. It was just a matter of time but the hardest part is the wait. Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone.

Received a letter dated April 10 saying that we are an interview waiver case. It's both good and bad: we don't need an interview (yay!) but it'll take around 6 months or so (boo!) according to what the letter says to receive the green card.

Are we the first interview waiver here for January? Anyone else got one?

Anyone here waiting for an interview in the Chicago office? I got moved to Testing & Interview on February 18th, biometrics were January 31st. I know Chicago is a slow office but I'm wondering roughly when to expect my interview.

(I am actually adjusting from a work visa (E3) so I know this post should be in the other forum, but none of those January 2014 filers are waiting on the Chicago office so I thought I'd try you family-based adjusters!)

Hey ajhigh - we're also in Chicago - and got the status changed to Testing and Interview on 2/20 - and same here, we're not adjusting based on K-1 but this forum had so much more activity and helpful people, it's been great. The USCIS website states that Chicago is still working on May 2013 cases, but if you look at many of the other forums, lots of people who applied in July/August/Sept - had their interviews within that past couple of months. So yes, Chicago is slow as heck, but I wouldn't go by the dates that are posted on USCIS.

I'm glad we atleast got the EAD in less than 3 months. I don't expect an interview date till middle or end of next month. Just my guess based on others. But who knows. Good luck to you and keep us posted if anything changes on your end.

Day 1:[01/16/2014] I-130, I-485, I-765 delivered to Chicago

Day 5:[01/20/2014] NOA1 confirmation texts + emails

Day 8:[01/23/2014] NOA1 hard copies in the mail

Day 14:[01/29/2014] Biometrics Appointment letter in Mail for 02/11/14

Day 22:[02/07/2014] Early Walk-in - Denied. Didn't know about early walk-in til now

Day 27:[02/11/2014] Biometrics Done

Day 36:[02/20/2014] I-485 Status changed to "Testing and Interview"

Day 69:[03/26/2014] EAD Approved. Status Online Changed to "Card/ Document Production"

Day 171: [7/10/14] Got Notice of Interview Scheduled for 8/12/14

Day 202: (8/12/14] Interview Completed in Chicago downtown Office

Day 202: (8/12/14] Got Approved Notice and GC is in Production

Thanks so much for the reply, R&IJourney, it's nice to know there's someone with a similar timeline at the same local office as me. My husband (petitioner) sent a letter to our Congresswoman to alert her to the backlog at Chicago. I'm not expecting/feeling entitled to any special treatment, that wasn't the intention, we just thought that she should be aware of how far behind the processing time goals Chicago is. I'll be sure to post in this forum when we receive our interview date. We're hoping it will be before July, as I'm going abroad for a month or two this summer and would love it if I didn't need to reschedule the interview due to a clash. Good luck!

Really great news vbtwo....I have been reading here on VJ (as you do...lol) that many people who have received an interview waiver letter end up receiving their GC's a month or so after.....fingers crossed this happens for you too :)

Hey ajhigh....R&IJourney makes a great point about the processing times via USCIS not being entirely spot on. If I was to go by my local office's processing times, I shouldn't have had my interview until around September this year, yet I had my interview a week ago. So you just never do know, you might be pleasantly surprised yet :) Additionally, you might even have your interview waivered at this stage of the game - which looks like the notifications of such are starting to happen on those too....(yay for vbtwo!!)

There are also quite a number of people who have received notification that they will be interviewed however they are yet to receive their dates. Anybody's guess really and lots of reasons to bite your nails to the quick and check your status update a freakishly obsessive amount of times.....lol

I have to say that the processing time for Chicago being so close to a year wait justified the letter to the Congresswoman - for everyone's sake.

Hang in there matey....I really hope you hear good news, soon as. :) Good luck!

Hey - I think it s a great idea to contact the congresswoman. I should do that too. Maybe it'll put a little pressure on them. Or atleast it'll make us feel better for a minute. :-)

Yesterday my case finally changed to texting and interview. I checked a few hours later and saw that my EAD was approved and they had ordered a card. . 2 hours later AP was approved, it's now in post decision activity. They said the nailed a notice yesterday for ap saying it was approved and with instructions. My priority date is jan 7th. I did have a RFE, i took about 2 months to respond. My bio. apt was on apr. 2nd. No text or emails yet about the EAD and ap approval or the 485. I feel like they are really trying their best to get stuff done. At least mine is moving.
