i Saw a few people before posting about the tracking number. However, i cant recollect how long after you get the text/email approval, do you receive the tracking info? Its been 2 days, and I haven't received anything. Can someone give me some advice? :help: I would greatly appreciate it. :innocent:

that is so nice to hear male alpha:)

how many days since you went to SSA did they mail out your SSN? if i dare ask:)

Thanks! I actually went to the SSA office last week Thursday, 03/27/2014 same day I received the card ( I got it in the morning) and I received the card today Friday, 04/04/2014. So I'm guessing in all it took 7 business days from application to receipt.

Looks like before you get the actual card, USCIS updates their system with your information so the verification is pretty quick. Yesterday though I received a mail from SSA acknowledging receipt of my application and telling me I will get my card in 2 weeks. Looks like the 2 weeks was 1 day.

Awesome news MaleAlpha...yippee for you! Hope you here soon about the interview too.

Have a super weekend..!

Thanks CJC! You sure bet I am excited. Now I'm all set to hear news about my interview schedule. Per the new processing timelines (looks like it was updated this week), the Portland office is gradually moving quickly. So I'm positive I should get my interview date within this month. Probably scheduled for next month or June. I wouldn't mind though if I am working lol.

Enjoy your weekend. I just came back from the movies with my wife where we went to see Noah. Great movie!

Hello everyone. This is our first actual post but we would like to thank everyone for all the help, guidance, and motivation they provided through their posts. I'm not much of a forum person but I hope my post / timeline helps people so I am constructing mine right now.

My wife is Canadian and her interview was this Friday 04.04.14 and it lasted about 5 to 7 minutes and we were approved on the spot. We also changed her last name to mine at the conclusion of the interview and then went to an SSA office and submitted an application with her old last name and requested to have it changed to her new last name.

Our interviewing officer was very pleasant and to the point. She went through our application by herself and asked us a few basic questions such as our names and dates of birth. She looked at our wedding card and a few pictures and asked how we met. Btw, she stated that the AP card becomes invalid as soon as you are approved so she recommended not traveling until we got our permanent resident card unless it was an absolute emergency. She gave us a letter stating we were approved and congratulated us before walking us to the exit. This is our timeline:

Jan 13 - Mailed application

Jan 21 - USCIS received application

Feb 18 - Biometrics

Apr 03 - AP / EAD received

Apr 04 - Interview & Approval

Hey all just received a message saying my EAD card is in production. Do just wait for the mail now or is there a tracking number to follow?

After you get the Approved message, you'll get another update within a week that the card is being mailed or an approval letter has been mailed. And Usually within a day or so you get a tracking number. We never got the tracking number but 3 days later, via USPS priority mail, the card was in our hands. So all in all you should - Shuold - have the card in hand in about a week to 10 days.

Day 1:[01/16/2014] I-130, I-485, I-765 delivered to Chicago

Day 5:[01/20/2014] NOA1 confirmation texts + emails

Day 8:[01/23/2014] NOA1 hard copies in the mail

Day 14:[01/29/2014] Biometrics Appointment letter in Mail for 02/11/14

Day 22:[02/07/2014] Early Walk-in - Denied. Didn't know about early walk-in til now

Day 27:[02/11/2014] Biometrics Done

Day 36:[02/20/2014] I-485 Status changed to "Testing and Interview"

I take it I will get another with tracking number in a few days or not as you said you just got yours in the mail with no tracking lol. My job said they will give me 3 days from the 14th to produce the EAD. It should arrive before then.

Hi Nurseling

Just an observation how different USCIS work despite us living in same place (Atlanta). You see, I am looking at your timelime, I had my biometric a day after you did yours and never requested for expedite. I been receiving text and email updates for each changes on application status up to Initial review but last Friday it moved right away to Card Production. I did not received text nor email update on this one. Did not requested for expedite either. Looking at this changes I assumed that my card was in production already before yours, which is odd. I was expecting that your card will be in production ahead of me. Nevertheless, I am happy that our card now in production. Just mind boggling that it shows us in same office work is not done on a first come, first serve basis. Cheers!

Hey Atlcat

You so right. I wonder how they distribute the work load. So strange. Lol.

I may not even receive a tracking number since that seems to happen to some people. I guess I will just keep a eye out for the mail.

As for being in the same office boy are in for a long haul with Atlanta regarding green card interviews they have a huge backlog. I estimate we are looking at towards the end of the year lol. I am not too bothered as long as my EAD turns up I am good for now. Let us know when you get yours.

Sure do Nurseling. Last time we check takes at least 9months before green card issued to Atlanta filers. You are right EAD is most important at this moment. We had been waiting for that, my driver's license had expired together with my I-94. I just hope EAD is enough for the DDS to renew my license. I need it to be able to go about without waiting for my husband to drive me around. He has been complaining about it :ranting: ..lol..especially that it takes more time for me to do shopping (even groceries only). I guess most men do not really have much patience when it comes to shopping.

Haha tell me about it. Most men don't like going grocery shop with women cos it's a long process my husband is the same. He has of course stopped moaning cos he doesn't want me giving him what for when he opens his mouth lol.

I like to take my time especially when I know the food I may be buying could potentially kill me lol. Have to read the label and ingredient in everything I buy too scared of getting ill here in this country so much processed and toxins in the food.

Yes Atlanta is a long waiting time. Oh well at least we can work while we wait.

I been doing the practice tests for Georgia online to go sit the computer test next week. So far so good hopefully the real test is similar to the practice.

Am in smyrna where abouts are you? You found a job yet?
