You should find a job easily you have experience loads job out there for your profession.

Plus your marketable you have that international know how behind you they will be throwing offers at you. Trust me still getting offers even though I already have one I have accepted.

Yes I would go with the cat if I was able to but can hardly swap the little rug rat I have at home now grown attached to his naughtiness lol.

Had so much doing procrastinated with the driving recently really got to get it going again. Now I can afford my new jeep end of may. Imagine little immigrant me with no EAD no green card no credit can afford a brand new jeep lol only in America!!!

Thanks for your words of encouragement of the work front Nurseling...they help a lot :) I will be writing my resume up next week and start hammering the vacancies, I am sure something will come up.

I am lucky because in marrying my man, I also get an in with his family and they are fantastic - I am seriously blessed. Hubby has a couple of grandkids and one of them is 5 1/2 (so she tells me all the time) going on 15....she is awesome to spend time with and she even coloured in a picture of a koala because she knew I was feeling home sick. I can only imagine what it is like to have your own, I can see how you would be attached to their naughiness/sassyness...lol

Ooh look at you getting a jeep with no nothing......I did the same thing and got a cute Malibu ( I have named her Mary-Lou) to drive around in. The second I get my EAD I am off to get local licence. I still want to drive on the other side of the road from time to time but I am getting better with it...lol

Roll on EAD for you!

Now i can get hubby to work because she was getting miserable just staying home and being a house- husband. I praying yours come soon. Hopefully this week. Crossing fingers

Hey Guys - I might just be paranoid or anxious - but on the 26th our EAD status changed to Approved. Then on April 1, we got two updates. First, it says that the Card has been mailed to the address on file. Then a few minutes later it says That "We have mailed you a notice that we approved the I765". and is back to "Post Decision Activity". We don't have a tracking number either. After stalking the case status page and this forum, I can see that usually, the same day or within a day, once it says its been mailed, a Tracking Number is provided. And so many from the past two weeks have actually had their EAD cards in hand within 7-10 days. Now ours could still be in the mail, but I'm wondering why there is still no Tracking Number. Does this mean it hasn't been picked up by USPS? We called Customer Service, and it was Useless. The lady just read what was on the Case Status website and had no clue otherwise.

I was really hoping that we had it in our hands by end of this week. My husband has a job pending and was hoping to start Monday. Now who knows.

Hey R&IJourney..I had the same thing. Therefore I would suppose you should receive your tracking info today sometime. They are shipped out of KY so it is entirely feasable that you could get it either Friday or Saturday :)..Hope so!

I wonder what is everybody's occupation. Is it easy for you to find a job in the states? Im a BBA and there a plenty of jobs out there. I'm just a lil nervous because I don't have any job experience in the states. I'm confident and sure I will find a decent job soon. I just wanted to know how you are doing on the job search in your job field.

Hey all still waiting on a message.

Plan to call them tomorrow if I don't hear nothing today.

Lol looks like I am the last of the January filers to get EAD lol I think it was cos all the nice things I said about uscis hahah. My hubby is laughing at me he said see told you to leave those people alone lol.

Well laughter and banter got us through it so happy to be part of the thread.

Will keep you updated as to what they say when I call tomorrow. I am suppose to produce my EAD before my job starts on the 14 April don't have much time to faff around with them.

On the upside of things I took a 1 hour walk through Chicago today on the old ifit treadmill it felt like I was actually there. Technology just gets better.

Whats a BBA?

I am a specialist critical care nurse. Did my general nursing studies then went back to do my post graduate specialist nurse course to be a Intensive care nurse. Never a dull moment on the ICU always someone codeing.

Plenty plenty jobs for nurses and good pay too. I use to travel nurse in UK and that was good pay rates . Found out here that travel nurses earn about 400-550$ Take home a day for a 12 hour shift. So yes I am just doing the paperwork to join Travel nurse Agency here too as well as the permanent job I will be starting on the 14 April. Had a few agency's contact me offering work. That's a good incentive for me to travel nurse agin lol. Is money not a motivator or what!!

I have been lurking in the background for sometime now. Congratulations to everyone that has gotten their EAD and AP approvals especially R&I Journey, JBForever, CJC, Nurseling etc. Trust me it feels good having the EAD and for some weird reason it makes the time pass faster as you don't overly keep focusing on the GC timeline. I applied for my SSN lasty thursday, 03/27/2014 and from updates from my sister-in-law who works at the SSA office (fortunately), my SSN should be arriving anytime soon (Latest by saturday). Looks like it doesn't take too much time to do the verification with DHS these days.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC : 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

 

More Importantly, I am a proud Anti-Fascist!

great news!!! i was just saying that you'd be getting that EAD pretty soon and there it is!!!! give it a week from the time they notified you of the card production. my daughter's said the same thing last week and her card is already for mailing thru USPS 2 day priority mail and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow...exactly a week from it:) so good news gurl!!! go get them!!! am so happy for you!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Yeah glad just got the message I thought I was going to have to call them up tomorrow to hound them but I guess they didn't want to hear my voice lol. I don't think the expedite did anything it was due to bed done. Similar to your situation. Oh well couldn't take the risk of not getting it in time to start my job.

It's been a journey thank god we all had each other for support.

I have been lurking in the background for sometime now. Congratulations to everyone that has gotten their EAD and AP approvals especially R&I Journey, JBForever, CJC, Nurseling etc. Trust me it feels good having the EAD and for some weird reason it makes the time pass faster as you don't overly keep focusing on the GC timeline. I applied for my SSN lasty thursday, 03/27/2014 and from updates from my sister-in-law who works at the SSA office (fortunately), my SSN should be arriving anytime soon (Latest by saturday). Looks like it doesn't take too much time to do the verification with DHS these days.

i already have my SSN in my married name but it says valid for work only if with DHS work auth...so i guess once i get the EAD id still have to go back to SSA and have them change it to valid for work period?

i sure would be off to go to DMV and get that state ID...aint this exciting:) congrats to each one of us who toughened it out and took the journey:) what a blast it was:) :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: time to he happy and thankful:)

I am a Software Developer so I am looking for jobs in that area. The company I used to work with had its HQ here so I was working here on another status in the past for about 2 years. I am currently in the job market looking but the response and progress rate has been very good especially considering the fact that Portland is an IT hub. Lots of tech personnel prefer moving to Seattle and California which makes the prospects here even brighter since there are a constant availability of jobs here. I am in the final stages of interviews with 2 companies here (after doing a phone screen, interview and 2 rounds of technical tests) - I was looking for jobs even before I got my EAD, so for now I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to here from them latest by next week with an offer. I am also interviewing with some other companies but just on the initial first round interviews.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC : 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

great news!!! i was just saying that you'd be getting that EAD pretty soon and there it is!!!! give it a week from the time they notified you of the card production. my daughter's said the same thing last week and her card is already for mailing thru USPS 2 day priority mail and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow...exactly a week from it:) so good news gurl!!! go get them!!! am so happy for you!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

So glad I didn't have to chew their ears off tomorrow was planning to call them up lol.

Yeah hope it is only a week cos I am suppose to have it in my hand on orientation day on 14 so really praying it arrives latest next Friday.

O9/05/2015 medical appointment

09/06/2013 packet 3 arrived in the mail.

10/04/2013 CEAC update dos says waiting to give interview date

10/11/2013 packet 4 interview letter arrived

10/22/2013 interview at London embassy

10/22/2013 Approved the visa

2/2/2014. (day7) text message and email from USCIS for acceptance of all forms.

1/31/2014 I-485 accepted receipt number and hard copy has been sent. Processed at National Benefits Centre.

1/28/2014 I-131 application for travel documents in initial review receipt number given and hard copy has been sent

1/28/2014 I-765 application for employment authorization in initial review receipt number given and hard copy has been sent.

2/7/2014 (day11) noa1 hard copy arrived in the mail for I-485 I-131 I-765

2/14/2014 (day18) biometric appt letter arrived in the mail. Appt schedualled for 2/26/2014 11.00am.

2/18/2014 (day 22) biometrics successful walkin.

4/01/2014 faxed expedite supporting documents to number on letter sent to me. Waiting waiting waiting

4/03/2014 (68 days) EAD and AP approved text message sent status post decision. Hooray !!!

4/7/2014 (72 days ) status change to card in production for EAD.

4/10/2014 ( 75 days) status changed after calling uscis regarding urgency of EAD. Also usps tracking number at 20.580pm
