Hey coolime,

there is certainly the possibility that the GC Interview is before you getting the EAD, I am living proof of that. See it like this: You didn't pay extra for the EAD/AP, thus once you got the Green Card, you're good to go.

I know, I'm just glad I didn't pay extra dime for the EAD/AP....

I was already upset because I've never seen anyone who had problems with their finger prints and had to get it done twice :crying:

Looks like things are moving along fairly well for you! Congrats!

Sorry in advance for not quoting posts:

You can apply for SSN before ead/ap. I applied for mine 7 days after entering on K1 and got the card a week later. I didn't apply for AOS until a month after I got my SSN. I wasn't even married when I applied for SSN, a K1 visa allows you to obtain it. I opened a chase account and a couple credit cards as soon as I got the card. I went to the office in person to apply for SSN, which I think is compulsory (double check)

Once I get my EAD, I will go back and change my work auth status and my new surname change in then SSN. You can do that for free anytime.

MaleAlpha, I've definitely signed up to receive e notifications, but Im not getting any...which is fine I guess, I check the website a lot! I was meant to get the card today, but it seems its probably going to arrive tomorrow...I hope!

Congrats to the new GC and EAD holders!

No I went to the SSA office and applied. They checked my passport and EAD and made copies.

The guy said if the DHS verification goes through soon, I should expect to receive it by next week. That will be awesome if I receive it next week.

Hi MaleAlpha!

The same thing happened to me. I informed the IO about this and she said, I can always go back to the SSA office when I receive my green card, yaiks! But she said, I don't need to wait for my SSN as long as I have my EAD card and passport to show to my employer and the notice I received from SSA.

So my priority date was Feb 3, I had filed January 27. Yesterday my status FINALLY moved to testing and interview. My EAD status strangely enough hasn't budged. Maybe I'll get my green card before my EAD. Can't wait to get the appointment in the mail!

Hello everyone,

I hope to get some ideas from you as we all filed almost at the same time. My I-485, I-130, and I-765 were sent on January, 16. I received the confirmation about the receipt of I-485, I-130 on January,21. Due to the missing signature and then due to somebody's mistake in USCIS my I-765 documents were received on February,26 but i received the notice reassuring me that my I-765 form will be processed at the same time with I-130.

This what I have for today:

My I-485 is still at the acceptance stage despite the fact that i had my biometrics taken on February,14. (My state is New York). Is it ok? I called USCIS but nobody could provide me with a good answer.

I checked my case status a week ago and discovered the following notice on March 20 your advanced parole document was produced, I didn't receive any notifications via e-mail but it doesn't matter. 11 days have passed and i even don't know whether that document was sent to me or not. I was pretty sure that i would receive a combo card and i didn't have any concerns about that because i received a notice which convinced me that my documents would not lose it's initial place. Has anyone had a similar case?
