I had the same experience with SSA and was unable to renew my drivers license too they say now the need a SSN to renew all because the government left hand have no clue what its right hand is doing.

The lady at SSA said it takes 10 days from the effective date of the EAD before its verifiable buts sometimes some folks get lucky.

Thanks anmasean! The officer informed us that he will call us as soon as their database has updated. So, there is a possibility of getting it before 10 days. I have no choice but to wait... This waiting game is really testing my patience. By the way, my interview is going to be tomorrow and I am having a flu... huhuhuhuhu :crying::rolleyes:

Sorry to hear about the flu myself just recovered a week ago but you will be fine for tomorrow although I know your climate is way different from mine here in Florida. I wish you all the best tomorrow.

Ok so just expedited my EAD I was told I will hear within 5 days and a decision is based on the person handling my case. Now I got to get human resources to issue me a employment letter. Will see what happens.

Hi Nurseling. Long time no see. Good to know everything is going on good with you. And it's good you called USCIS to expedite your case. Most likely they should/would honor it. I did it sometime back (around 3rd February) and they asked me to fax back some proof which I did but they ignored my request (in my case I didn't add any job offer letter so it was expected). But just last week Tuesday (03/18/2014) I called them and asked them why they hadn't honored my request to which they sent me an email telling me they are aware I called regarding my expedite request and that they were reviewing my application etc. they gave me a referral ticket, next day (03/19/2014) I got the EAD in production mail. But being on day 63, I don't know if it was because of my call/expedite request or because it was just within the standard processing time but at least it helps to know that it might have made them process it faster considering there were people who filed in the first week of January who haven't still received their EAD.

Hey MaleAlpha.....really great news about the card but it sure would be nice to see it in your mail box. Fingers crossed it will be here for you by the end of the week...along with your interview notice :)

Thanks CJC. Have you had any updates about your case? Nothing will excite me more than seeing an interview notice even though I am not trying to keep my hopes in that regards too high considering there are other December Portland filers who haven't received the interview notice too. Makes me wonder if the USCIS guys there are working at all lol. Hopefully by 04/20/2014 I should receive the interview notice. I don't really mind even having my interview in May or June as long as I just know when I will have it.

Topoftherock2013. I got the same case update too. I got the texts and emails though. I'm thinking you probably haven't set your USCIS account to send you text/email notifications. You would have to set it first. Hopefully later today or tomorrow we will receive a tracking number

I don't think you should worry much as I have observed that people who already have interview appointment dates are the last to get EAD approved I guess its because if successful they wont need a EAD anyway You will be fine in a few days CHIN UP!!!

Thank you anmasean! I do hope I can get to working very soon, so if that means I get the Green Card straight away then all the better :)

This should make you feel better - my husband's AOS/EA got filed 1/16 and had his Bio done 2/11 - and we haven't received EAD nor an Interview Date. Atleast you have that :-)

We're getting very frustrated everyday that passes.

Yes, at least I've got an appointment, you're right!

Hang in there!

Thanks for making me feel better guys!

I just received another update on my I-765. They updated the website with a tracking number and USPS has estimated the delivery date to be on Friday, 03/28/2014. I guess with this development, next Monday I can apply for a social security number.

Thats great - who do you call to expedite? And whats their process?

Hi R&Ijourney

I called the customer services number and they went through a set of questions and asked me which one meets my situation. I took the option of hardship and loss of earnings due to being in financial hardship e.g not being able to pay bills and eat I had to look for jobs and now I have many job offers I need to work. She wrote it all down that way then repeated it back to me then said you will hear from us within 5 days either by email or post.

Do you have job offers too and need to expedite?

Hi maleAlpha

So happy you will be receiving your EAD in the mail soon. Also thank for sharing your expedite experience with me it's nice to know. But like you said it seems it was already 63 days so really that was the time for them to give it to you. I will call hr tomorrow to check if all my refrences have come through so they can produce a job offer letter for me to send to uscis as proof. I will also photocopy my nursing licence since the know the self they have huge nurse shortage in this country they need me lol. That my help my case.

Will let you know how it goes.

Hello everyone, I woke up this morning to this notice

Testing and Interview

Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

I am very excited as it seems as if some of us January filers are moving along quickly. I am also confused because I just received my EAD yesterday and it seems USCIS have no set system as to their processing.
