I just had the best job opportunity ever and I don't know what to do because I don't have a EAD and SSN yet. Is there anything i can do to get the job?

Skyview - I don't know your timeline but you can accept and somehow let them know you can't start for a couple of weeks or a month and hope your EAD arrives in that much time. They may be ok with that. And if not - I don't know legitimate employers who would hire you without proper authorization.

Day 1:[01/16/2014] I-130, I-485, I-765 delivered to Chicago

Day 5:[01/20/2014] NOA1 confirmation texts + emails

Day 8:[01/23/2014] NOA1 hard copies in the mail

Day 14:[01/29/2014] Biometrics Appointment letter in Mail for 02/11/14

Day 22:[02/07/2014] Early Walk-in - Denied. Didn't know about early walk-in til now

Day 27:[02/11/2014] Biometrics Done

Day 36:[02/20/2014] I-485 Status changed to "Testing and Interview"

Day 69:[03/26/2014] EAD Approved. Status Online Changed to "Card/ Document Production"

Day 171: [7/10/14] Got Notice of Interview Scheduled for 8/12/14

Day 202: (8/12/14] Interview Completed in Chicago downtown Office

Day 202: (8/12/14] Got Approved Notice and GC is in Production

I don't know how to make my timeline visible. Im still on initial review on my i 756. Ive done my bios 2 weeks ago and nothing had changed. My AOS is on Response of RFE. I don't know how long I have to wait to get my EAD. I don't want to do anything w/o my EAD but its really killing me not to get the chance to work for them.

Hi Skyview,

If you have a formal offer, you can try to expedite the EAD. I did that with my offer and was just notified today that my EAD was moved to card production about a week after submitting the required documentation.

Wurstbrot - i can only imagine your excitement.

MaleAlpha - I'm waiting on the Chicago office. It says we're supposed to receive our letter within 30 days but with so many people getting notified so soon, the 15 days we've been waiting seems like forever.

For the guys who got their Interview or EAD notice, how did you hear first - email, text, letter, status change on the website...?

R&I Journey - I'm also at the Chicago office. I noticed your comment about receiving letters within 30 days of moving to testing & interview - I don't think that's correct. I think we receive the letter within 30 days of the interview being scheduled. Unfortunately, I've seen people on other threads who have been in "testing & interview" for over 6 months, waiting for their interview to get scheduled. Hopefully we both get lucky and it doesn't take that long for us! OR hopefully I'm mis-reading something and you're right about the 30 day thing. Please keep us updated, I haven't seen many other Chicago locals on the forums.

Also, for what it's worth, looking at AOS stats, Chicago is averaging over 6 months from start to finish. It could be a long wait. Good luck!

When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call...

When I read that carefully, I think you're right. Darn :-)

Actually from the timelines, EAD usually has been approved under 3 months, thats more important to us right now. And as I compare the timelines for each step, we are on average or a bit faster. Except this part now. It hasn't even been 2 months since we applied, so I know there's still time. Just as we get closer, its getting harder to be patient. How's your time ajhigh? Are you also at the Testing&Interview stage?

Yes I'm in testing and interview. The dates are on my timeline. I'm not expecting an interview anytime soon, seeing as I'm in Chicago.

hello january peeps,

it's been a wild ride since i applied to expedite EAD, and I hardly ever have time to write more than just a quick update.

so today i took things seriously and sat down to create my "timeline"

I failed big time, for a variety of reasons:( I will try again some time soon hoping that my timeline might be a reference point for others

if it comes to updates, I seem to have lost track of all the e-mails that I have gotten from USCIS over the last week or so.

for now, I know for sure that:

1. my EAD has been mailed to me (wow, that was fast!) - the latest e-mail contains a usps tracking number (which doesn't work on their website, I wonder why?)

2. NOA-2 for my I-130 (filed back in JUne 2013) arrived in mail earlier today

I promised myself not to think about what the NOA means for now, but I can't NOT ask you guys: So my I-130 priority date is June 13. Does it mean that my I-485 gets bumped to the top of the waiting list?

Gosh, all the ins and outs of immigration law make my head hurt:/

still, my fingers are crossed for all january filers!

June 2013 - I-130 sent from overseas

January 2014 - applied for AOS/AP/EAD

March 2014 EAD/AP and I-130 approved

May 2014 - AOS approved

Just thought I would update: we received notification on 3/7 that the EAD/AP card is in production. We had an RFE on 1/28 and the RFE was received 2/11. I'm so relieved !!!!

actually u will receive ur EAD a month after ur RFE. So i have it hopefully by the end of the month.

There is no set time to receive your EAD after an RFE. We should have the card in a few days from now. From what others have said, it shouldn't take the whole month to receive it. I hope not at least! :)

But looking at your status your REF received Feb 11. Notice for EAD is in production was March 7. It's pretty much a month. You will receive yours within in a week.
