I spoke to someone at USCIS and they told me nyc office is working on July 2013 apps, it might be a long wait for us...

My updates haven't changed since Jan, when I got my NOA1. Really need AP!

Jannapa that's good that you received your card. Looks like if your local office is not backlogged, you could receive your interview notice in a few days. The Portland field office seems to be backlogged so I'm still waiting since 02/19/2014 when my I-485 status changed to testing and interview.

Wurstbrot_Royal. Your interview date is less than 2 weeks from now. Wow isn't that exciting! Looks like you might receive your green card before you even receive your EAD? Hopefully my local office starts slamming through their cases and I receive an interview notice soon.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

Woooohoooo - My I-485 has moved to 'Testing and Interview'...dancin5hr.gif I am very pleased that there are no more RFE's for now.

My local office is processing AOS applications from July last year at this stage, so it looks like I am in for a long wait also, but that is ok, it is nice to be moving along and being informed it is.

Things should start happening on the EAD/AP front for many of us within the next few weeks also (according to the processing timelines).

Congrats to you Jannapa and Wurstbrot (your interview soon...yay)....this is amazing how fast some seem to be moving along :)

Good luck to us...take care all.

Hi Guys.

Sorry I am not a January filers, But I read this forum last night and I thought you guys can help me with my questions.

We sent our AOS package ( Form I-130, I-485, I-765) on 02/28/2014.

Package was delivered to USCIS on 03/05/2014.

Seeing timeline of you guys and hoping everything goes fine with my application, I am assuming I will get biometrics appointment in last week of March or 1st week of April.

My question is what kind of photo id do you need to have at biometrics appointment? I sent my original passport to IRS on 03/03/2014 to get taxpayer ID number. (I sent copy of passport 1st but they asked for original, feeling stupid now thinking IRS could wait lol) and I would get my passport within 8 weeks. So it is possible that I won't be having my original passport with me when I get biometrics appointment.

I do have Dependent Military Photo ID of US as my wife is active military member. I also have Indian driver license and voter registration card. Would it suffice or Must I have passport for biometrics?

Thanks and good luck to everyone

February 28- AOS package sent. ( I-130, I-485, I-765)
March 5- Package delivered to USCIS Chicago.
March 11- Email and text notification with Receipt Numbers.
March 14- Hardcopy of NOA1 for all three applications.
March 21- Received biometrics appointment letter for 04/04/2014
April 2 - Completed Walk in Biometrics appointment successfully. (Original Appointment was for 4th April)
April 9- I-485 Case status has been updated to " Testing & Interview "
April 16- Text and email alert for case update for AOS interview on 22nd May 2014.
April 18- Hardcopy of Interview notice received in mail.
May 22- AOS interview, approved on the spot and got stamp in my passport.
May 27 - Approval notice of I-130 and I-485 in mail.

Hiya Samhunter! Oh dear re having to send your passport to the IRS, that is a pain. I found this link that will answer your question - you should be fine with your Driver's License providing it has a photo :)

You need your passport. You indian DL will not help at all. Your AOS is based on your passport number and they will check it. If you have an us dl or any other us ids you could use those.

It happened to me too. I forgot my passport and they told me they can't do anything w/o my passport (I had all kinds of IDs with me). So I went home got it and came right back.

Hi Skyview...thanks for the info...It is interesting and confusing that you had that experience.

To add to the USCIS link which states the requirements, when I went in for my biometrics the person before me didn't have their passport and the official said (quite bluntly) that they needed something with photo ID that matched their name on the appointment letter otherwise no biometrics today. They were also really strict on the wedding certificate, yet this wasn't mentioned anywhere except for here on VJ...thankfully!

Might be a different office thing, who knows....but good to know.

Have a good one!

i thought the same. They required a photo ID, passport or something with a picture on it. However, after showing them every ID i had i had to go back to get my passport. After my return they told me, its based on my passport number. I can only speak for Atlanta. I don't know how other departments handle it. So now I'm waiting for my EAD/AP.

Is it true that if your case stays at the NBC you won't get an interview or is it that a rumor? I rather have an interview than waived.

sadly, mine is still on RFE response review....cray5ol.gifcray5ol.gifcray5ol.gifcray5ol.gif

i read in the bible of 40 being the testing time....so on march 14 it would be 40 days since i filed....hoping it would end my wait...

if not, i sure hope i dont have to wait 40 weeks (or worse 40 yrs like the ones in the bible:)

I know everything will fall into place in God's perfect time. it is just frustrating in the meantime....

Oh well, i'm sure glad to hear of your update tho:)
