Hello everyone,

Hope you guys had a good weekend. Just wanted to see if there were any other approvals for expedite requests for EAD for January filers.

I am thinking about requesting to expedite the EAD (just received a job offer).

Thanks

Hey,

Just to let you know you can still get your SSN without the EAD card (to speed things up :-) )

All you need is your K1 visa in your passport and print off the I-94. I did mine yesterday. The lady just told me that the SSN card would state that you need work authorization to work. Took about ten minutes to apply and can take up to two weeks in the post :-)

Hey Topoftherock2013

The main thing is at least your file has been accepted. Fingers crossed that whoever picks up your file doesn't pay too much notice to marriage certificate copy. As for the tax stuff what did you send?

I expect a rfe too. I did send a original of marriage certificate but like you the tax thing might be a problem. We didn't have the IRS version of the tax transcript so we sent 1040EZ for 2011'2012,2013 and all the w2 for the 3 years as well as 5 copies of recent pay stubs. I did call the IRS to order the tax transcript incase the rfe comes . Hope to get those in the mail this coming week.

Hello i have a question DID u receive a RFE? cause of your taxes? I only sent my husbands copies of what we file on turbo tax.. and 6 months of pay stubs.. do you think that was sufficient? They received my package today, i am really freaking out

Hi Royo1 smile.png Yes, you will need to show proof of income, which is the W2. If income and assets were used, you will need both the W2 and proof of assets. Additionally letters from employers and pay stubs also support the current income requirements of sponsors.

If I sent copy of turbo tax refunds and 6 months of paystubs do you thin that would be enough?

something to add to that:

if you got married under a K1 Visa and changed your name within that marriage, then you will only be able to get your SSN under the new name,

once you received the EAD, because as of now you are in the system with your maiden name.

So the Social Security Office can only give you the SSN under your maiden name, I decieded that I will wait till I get my EAD,

to not make things more complicated.

good luck everyone
