I've been waiting and waiting for a biometrics appointment letter for nearly 2 weeks. My neighbor knocked on my door tonight and said "Hey, this was in my mailbox last week. I almost threw it away, but thought you might need it." I saw the USCIS mark on it and wanted to rip it out of his hands!! Uhhh, yes, thank you. I need that.

It's not the same mailing address at all, actually! It's our mailman.. We are always getting other people's mail, so I'm not completely surprised. I'm just glad my neighbor didn't throw it away! Now if I could just get my mailman to only give my bills to my neighbors, that'd be great!! :)

Yeah, same thing by us. It's just sitting at Acceptance for AOS and at Initial Review for AP and EAD. I've read that it's a pretty common occurrence for it to just sit at Acceptance all the way through and not update at all.

Hey JBForever....oh no, you probably banged your head on the desk from frustration!! I am sorry to hear about your RFE and I hope it is for something simple. Hopefully you will be able to turn it around quickly. It would have been great to have got them at the same time wouldn't it? I am hoping I don't get another one but I guess the potential is there. They must do the applications production-line style.... sad.png At least things are moving on the applications. You'll get there smile.png

yeah, it would have been nice if they get the RFEs all in one blow....could've saved some on postage stamps too...and the precious time....but thats the uscis for you....i hope it is rather simple too...I sure would hate if it is abt the medical and that id still need to have a civil surgeon transcribe the DS3025. that would be a bummer as i checked and CS over here wants you get you down for another medical which is about $300 give or take...oh well....here's hoping for better days.

WOW!

so something unbelievable just happened!

Please tell me if u ve heard of anything like this!

just checked the status of my AP travel document application and it said :

"On February 11, 2014, your advance parole document was produced. You will be notified by mail if any additional information or action by you is needed. If you have not received your document within 30 days, or you have recently moved, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance."

SO while this sounds BEYOND amazing, it weirds me out because I just sent in my RFE documents they requested for the i-485, and i havent even received a letter yet alone done the biometrics.

if this cards arrives to my address in the next 2 weeks or so, does this mean i am actually allowed to travel outside of the USA? is it always by default also a EAD card as well?

totally confused?

Hello there!

I had my biometrics done this morning in Milwaukee. I got there at 8.50am and was out the door at 9.01am! (My appointment was at 9am).

Thanks to the advice here, I took my marriage certificate as they asked for it, twice...thank you again!! :)

I also asked the lady who did the biometrics if the Milwaukee office takes walk-ins (for other VJ'ers), she said firmly 'no' and that the office was a busy one and they rely on the appointments to keep to their schedule of up to 90 appointments per day!! (yikes)

Dear USCIS, may I please have my EAD now?....pretty please....lol

Have a great day awesome folks :)

Hey CJC so glad to hear your appointment was a walk though lol. If only everything else in life was the same. Sounded like they weren't too busy there. The darn snow has stopped me getting my bio appt letter cos the postal service was not delivering yesterday. Hopefully today they have done something.

To make things worse I applied for 17 jobs and a reply for a interview for 7 what bad luck cos I got no EAD to work yet lol. I wonder if I can delay the interviews or go and delay commencing work. My hubby is laughing cos he was shocked It has not not taken any time for me to start getting interviews I only applied last week. I guess hospitals are desperate for staff now days.

How's the baking going? I made a white chocolate cake the other day. Only took one slice and well 2lbs weight gain I was so upset

These people cleared out the supermarket cos a little snow meant the world was ending my god the shelves in walmart publix and Kroger was so empty even the mouse was malnourished from lack of food. I thought I saw one lying on the shelf in walmart begging me for food lol. Jesus they really over exaggerate bad weather in this country. Don't no one come live in the UK cos they wouldn't be able to survive the rainy and snowy days.

If they don't resume service soon I will physically go and put the salt on the roads for them so people can get to work. My hubby wasn't complaining cos he got a day off.

hello all,

biometrics done.

whoever needs to do it in indianapolis, it is an easy walk

i arrived 2 hours early (contrary to what my husband had assumed, i didn't get lost, and found a parking spot right outside the office)

i checked in, showed a letter to a very pleasant lady, who asked me to sit and wait to be called

i didn't even take my coat off and the same lady stepped out and asked me in

the technician claims they don't do walk-ins, but i have a feeling that she was just instructed to say so

btw: having completed the goal of my two hour trip to indy in seven minutes, i felt sort of disappointed;)

so i took a nice walk around downtown before heading back north and - SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

hope coming out of this long winter will give a kick to uscis;)

June 2013 - I-130 sent from overseas

January 2014 - applied for AOS/AP/EAD

March 2014 EAD/AP and I-130 approved

May 2014 - AOS approved
