Yaay..Nurseling, it's good you finally got the NOAs. I'm quite surprised at why the emails and texts seem to mostly come at night and even sometimes on the weekends lol. These USCIS guys either have an automated system doing this at odd hours for them or they must be working round the clock lol. Whichever way they use, as long as we get our EADs and green cards in time, the better lol. I personally joined a gym on Saturday too and have started a few things out here to keep me busy also.

CJC..good to know that the RFE was for something minor and you dealt with it instantly. I don't think it will have any significant delays on your application since you handled it really quick. It also gives us a good indication that they are indeed working on our applications. So far I haven't received any case updates after the very first update on 01/22/2014. I don't know if it's a good thing or not lol..but I'm keeping watch ;-).

Good day to everyone and God bless us all!

Thanks MaleAlpha! I am hoping that it won't affect the timing also.

What was interesting was that the RFE was for the AOS but it made specific reference to the EAD and said once the information was received (and was in order) they would proceed with processing the EAD. That kind of surprised me, just as much as receiving texts in the middle of the night....lol

Great that you joined a gym, it is good to 'get amongst it' as we say in Australia.. :)

Happy to hear your rfe arrived quickly and you already sent a reply. Birth certificate huh. Thank god I remembered to include my husbands one. Knowing them it's going to be something else they ask for. I will keep fingers cross for no rfe.

I am giving my inbox a break and I have now decided to stalk the mail man for my noa1. Poor mail man!

Thanks Nurseling! I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you have no RFE either. Hopefully you will see changes on the USCIS website sooner than later :) I laugh at our comments about our next stages like stalking the mail man and selling organs...it is so funny. I have no doubt that our sense of humour is what will get us all through...

let me know if you need any baked goods sent your way....lol

hi cjc. Did they only ask for one thing? They only thing I forgot to include from my joint sponsor was her proof of status. They sent an rfe for tax returns and w2 (I sent transcripts)and proof of status. My problem is that my joint sponsor passport is expired so I have to wait sad.png I guess I won't be getting biometrics till after I send in the requested doc. I'm trying not to dwell on the negative

Hi Royo1. Yes they only asked for the proof of citizenship, thank fully. Darn on you having to wait. It sounds like your sponsor is cagey with her information, I can understand that but it puts so much extra stress on you and I am sorry for that. Hugs.

Passports shouldn't take that long to renew, so hopefully the wait isn't too long for you. To be sure, once you have everything they need, everything will move more quickly for you. It helps to keep really busy, so I am learning :)

hello all,

it is alarming for me to see how active you are about your AOS in general. to be honest, when stuck between all good mama's and good housekeeper's duties, i find very little time to take care of my own business.

i mentioned before that my rfe was specifically about a particular part of tax-related papers that reflect my husband's non-taxable income.

i sent it earlier today.

the rfe letter was very specific, with actual annotations on what was missing, but i still added some docs that i think might be useful. i hope i am not overdoing it:/ and i hope i am not getting all crazy.

i am glad to see that you guys find ways to kill time while waiting; let's hope we will all soon hear back from uscis with good news.

for now: stay safe if you are anywhere around snowstorms:) we are expecting up to 9 inches of snow within the next 24 hours, so i find it difficult to stay cheerful:/

Hi Royo1. It is NOT illegal to photocopy the naturalization certificate regarding proof of US citizenship. In the form instructions, USCIS recommends either using that or a US passport if the citizenship was obtained using naturalization. I know there's a notation on the naturalization certificate against illegal reproduction but that's to safeguard it against fraud. It's perfectly legal to use it for official documents

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

More Importantly, I am a proud Anti-Fascist!

Sent my 130,485,765 on Jan 23 and they got it on Jan 29th. Still no receipts. I wonder if San Francisco takes this long.

The initial package doesn't go to San Francisco, in your case it should have went to the Chicago Lockbox. Also I think your case would fall in the other Status Report forum as you are filing an I-130.

My wife had the biometrics today. Appointment was for 11 am, but we went in early and got there at 8:20 am (they open at 8). The guard asked for the letter and ID, but didn't even bother to look at them, just saw that we had them and gave us a form to fill out.

There were about 8 or so people ahead of us, but they were moving pretty fast. All in all, we were out of there by 9. At around that time, there were a lot more people arriving (when we left there were about 15 people in line), so if you can get to the center early, you'll get out quicker.

Glad to read about this thread and to see fellow January 2014 AOS filers.

I am on the same boat with the following info:

Jan 11 - sent out AOS package

Jan 17 - received by USCIS

Jan 24 - notice of biometrics appt received 2/3/14

Jan 31 - RFE per website was sent to me

Now, i havent received the RFE yet in the mail but i am glad to see some tips on here on how to overcome it if ever it is one of those stuff mentioned (i.e. tax, citizenship, etc.)

I hope we all get processed faster than we expect and good luck to everyone:)

Hi jannapa :) Great that you got your documents in yesterday. Don't worry too much about where everyone is up to, just do things your way and in the time you have, there is no right or wrong.....besides we are all a bit nuts, if honest....lol lol

Hey CJC

Your so right we got to laugh cos we need a sense of humour to get us through it.

Hiya Nurseling....omgosh, when I read your post I laughed so hard...you say jam rolly polly, I say jell-o...lol. I got the Jillian Michaels DVD and did the same thing, heck I even tried Pilates! All is not lost though, DVD's make fantastic coasters and as it happens I have a nice new coffee table coming...ha ha Thank goodness for the gym, at least it gets me out of the house. I have said it once and I will say it again....roll on EAD...!!

Hi itkkam....Oh yes, this journey is all about technicality when sending in our paperwork isn't it.?!? For me, there a many good things that come from it also and I have learned a lot even when I have made mistakes. It must have always been complicated otherwise VJ wouldn't be here...lol Good luck with your AOS :)
