Thanks topoftherock2013..Good news that you received your biometrics letter..it's nice to know our individual cases are progressing gradually..we still have some distance to go but it's good knowing, our applications are not just sitting idle on odometer shelf lol. About the RFE's, perhaps you may not even receive it at all and I hope you don't..but it's good you're safeguarding yourself by getting everything you need in case one comes through..it's good we're all keeping each other updated on the strides our cases are taking. Some years to come, I'm sure these posts will serve as a guide to a lot of people who are also adjusting status :-)..Happy weekend!

not quite there, but i would if i didn't have my flock of kids to take care of;)

btw: where in germany are you from? my mom is german, her family is from ruhrgebiet, and i will never forgive her for not speaking more german to me;)

about expedite EAD, again it sounds like a lottery. uscis ask about the reason for it, and the criteria are rather vague

the one that i would reach for says: severe financial loss to company or individual - we are a family of four, so living off one salary is tough, but then I read at least two different stories in which such an argument did not grant expedite processing sad.png

still, worth trying:)

June 2013 - I-130 sent from overseas

January 2014 - applied for AOS/AP/EAD

March 2014 EAD/AP and I-130 approved

I am from 1,5 hours east of Bochum. :) Still in NRW though.

I looked at my Paper NOA1s again today. It's so strange that we send the stuff to Chicago and yet we get letters from Lee's Summit, MO.

my mom's paternal grandparents were from the area of Dortmund; some distant cousins in Iserlohn. - I used to visit a lot when I was in my early twenties, liked the places a lot. I bet you miss your homeland:)

I was surprised by the Missouri address too. Apparently that office handles many cases. My I-130 (submitted back in June 2013) was handled by MO office and then transferred to Nebraska. Sometimes I wish I knew how it all works, but then I think to myself why? As long as things get done, everything is fine;)

Hi Nurseling..thanks. From what I have read from the other threads, you call them and tell them. You want it expedited. They ask you to select from the list of reasons why you want it selected. They then tell you they will get back in touch with you. Usually they will send you a mail within 5 -7 business days and ask you to send them reasons why you want it expedited with proof. Many claim to just send an explanation and it's fine and I have seen cases where people also attach a job offer letter which they need to work permit to accept. And within a week or two the EAD is processed. I don't know for sure if it's that easy so I will just try it and see..at least for the experience and as a guide for us all lol (someone has to always try and see, right? Lol). I know we all can't wait to receive our EADs. I will keep everyone updated on every step of my way. My former company here wants to give me a job if I get a work permit, so at least on that front I can easily get the job offer letter showing a willingness to offer employment contingent on my receiving a work permit.

That is great malealpha

I guess that makes sense that it can be expedited for work reasons. Great news that your old company wants to hire you again. At least it saves you time from all the hassles of filling out multiple applications for jobs. I already started looking and plan to start applying this week. Keeping busy lol. Well if anyone hires me I will surely be going the expedited route too. Thank you for the information.

MaleAlpha,

I think we're still on the same timeline - my biometrics was scheduled for Feb 11th, and I did a walk-in on Friday 31st. Quick question - was your biometrics in relation to all three applications (I-485, AP and EAD)? I just noticed that mine only referred to the EAD and the I-485, so now I'm wondering if I'm going to get another biometrics letter in relation to my advance parole application.

AP and EAD are on the same card, so I assume they'll only need one set of biometrics for it. Our letter also only references the AOS and EAD.

Hi all

Welcome to February.....yay....time is a-moving! lol

Hey everyone.

Ok so I went to the USCIS office today for my biometrics (originally scheduled for February 11..but that day wouldn't have been convenient for me because of my schedule) and guess what, they didn't even ask any questions. They just made me fill out the forms, took my ten fingerprints and a photo and within 10 minutes I was out. But I'm guessing they probably didn't care because it is a new office (has been around for around a year) and they have very few people coming in. When I got there for instance, there were just about 5 people in and that was all. Oh and I asked the lady if early biometrics helps in anything and she replied in the affirmative. She said since it enables them to do the FBI checks faster (which according to her is one of the stages where much time is spent because it takes about 2-4 weeks for them to get the results) and after that they issue the EAD. So I guess if anyone can do it early and your ASC is flexible and less busy like the Portland office, I guess you should go right in and get it done if you can.

Oh and she was really nice and was willing to answer a lot of my questions..perhaps because she was bored from not having a lot to do lol..or because she was just simply nice. So for now, I guess, I'm just waiting on my EAD. I will try to see if I can get my EAD expedited, and I will update the thread with my experience lol..hopefully that would be successful too!

You all have a wonderful day and a happy weekend :-)

Thanks for the info AlphaMale, really glad to hear it worked out for you. Roll on EAD!

Well done Malealpha! Good news smile.png

I got my Biometrics appt letter today, also for 11th Feb. I'm just going to wait and go in on the date on the letter.

However, I can tick off a few docs I didn't send in the AOS package (proof Spouse is USC, original marriage cert) so I am expecting an RFE.

Thanks to everyone here who posts about rfe's, I've started preparing for all these docs now.

Have a nice weekend all!

Hey topoftherock, great news on your biometrics. I am waiting eagerly here for my RFE so I know what I missed and have to get into them, hopefully it will help you and others too. I am watching for the post person like a bored junk yard dog...lol

Am I the only one who finds himself frantically perousing these boards multiple times a day in hopes to read updates? Jeez this is wrong... biggrin.png

Hi Wurstbrot_Royal......nope, you are not the only one...lol

Hey there I'm also JANUARY filers from ILLINOIS I'm waiting for our biometrics this feb18 ..i hope i can received my EAD soon ..

All the best syncme!

Lol am still here waiting to get something from them to comfirme they have accepted my application. Hopefully tomorrow since they don't work on weekends.

Hope you get your EAD soon

Hiya Nurseling...I hope you are feeling a bit better this week? I reckon you will get a message soon to say all is systems go. It is so terribly hard all this waiting, especially at the beginning. I really hope you hear something asap...fingers crossed, as well as arms, toes and eyes...:)

Last week was a bit nuts for me, so I have decided that I need to keep myself super busy, so I have made an impossible to-do list that I must achieve this week and as a consequence, I promoted myself to 'General Manager of Home Operations' to ensure that keep on my own case....ha ha

I also joined a gym on Friday and have started studying for my driver's permit. I ordered a Roku and I am going to install that (to see if we can reduce our cable bill). I am also going to look for a car to buy. If this doesn't keep me out of trouble, I don't know what will...lol

Postie Postie don't be slow, go like Elvis, go man go and bring me my RFE....ha ha

Have a great week all.
