They are good! I am not opposed to answering questions. The more i am in this family the more i realize very few read them before they start asking questions. The answers are usually there in the guides. I wonder why that is? They don't like the answer from the guide? Too lazy to read them? Don't know they are there?

Amazing really

For some reason I think most people think they are the first to ask such a question. If they would take the time and learn the search function they would find the answer(s) as well.

YMMV

Could it be that to some, it's easier to ask than to read? I hesitate to say a touch of laziness, but I wonder...it's all spelled out in the guides. I took the time to read and educate myself. Then, when I really didn't understand something then I asked.

Simple really...or so I think.

Actually I don't think a lot of people go thru reading the guides. After I read them, I asked a couple of questions because I was unsure on a few things...

But the guides are so helpful, that if more people would read them, there would be less dup questions...

Hello everyone,

This question may or may not have been answered many times before but I need this question answered anyways.

Can anyone tell me if it is better to get a lawer or not to do the K-1 process?

Thank you everyone

This just proves the question posed in this thread (read the guides) or do a site search to get your answer.....

YMMV

I've tried many a time to do a site search on specific topic and it brings up tons of posts that don't relate. Just as easy for me to ask the question again, rather than send all this time searching and not finding my answer.

That is because you are not using the search function properly....

I think laziness can be part of it, but remember that not everyone is a reader either. When it's something that also causes a good deal of anxiety (it's a pretty scary thought to screw up anything in this process), it's also going to be a deterrent to going it "on your own."

I find too that for as many people here who reply with links and prompts to "go read the guides" there are just as many ready to spoon feed the answer. That can make it difficult to "enforce" the self-help DIY theme this website encourages.

I didn't even know about the forum part until after I was through K-1 and about to start on my AOS.. I used the guides for my K-1.. mostly forgot about VJ and then rediscovered it when I was looking through some of my paperwork from before from a part of the guide I had printed out.. and now here I am!

too lazy or just overwhelmed. I did my wifes k-1 without asking a single question here. I just read stuff. ignorance is bliss. no RFE at least.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
