Hi all,

I accidentally sent my 129F application to VSC instead of Chicago. Does anyone know if I have to re-send the application or will VSC send it to Chicago. If they will send it does it take much longer?? I just realized this and am not sure what could happen... any suggestions? :(

Thanks,

Niket

I'm not sure on this one, but the dealings that I have had thus far with USCIS is that they don't go above and beyond to resolve errors for you other then to send RFE's. You might want to call the USCIS 800 number and explain the situation and ask what you should do from this point.

I hope this helps!

Hopefully you sent a personal check, and once cancelled your case number should be on the back of the check. That way you can logon to USCIS.gov or reference it with the customer service. If you don't know if they have forwarded your file Customer Service will tell you to wait 30 days from when you sent it before they will investigate.

More than likely, your case will be forwarded to the correct service center and the delay will only cost you a couple of days. Even though I was directed to file at the Texas Service Center, our petition was forwarded to California. I think forwarding to the correct service center is a common occurence and you will be ok. Check the back of your cancelled check, call customer service tomorrow, and keep your fingers crossed. You'll be alright. :innocent:

The USCIS procedures manual says that in the event a case is filed with the wrong service center that they are suppose to send it to the proper center... Will or do they actually do this? I am not sure....

YMMV

Thanks everyone for your quick responses. I finally got through w/ the 800 number (took for ever). They rep. claimed that if I mailed my 129F to the wrong service center it would be a) Forwarded by the receiving center to the appropriate center OR B) returned back to me to send it back to the right center. Unfortunately, it has not been that long since I mailed it so I can't see my cleared check, neither have I received the NOA.

I'll keep posting here as I receive any word. Thanks again everyone!

Hi all,

Great news!!! I just got an update on my application and finally got my NOA for the I-129F submission. Yay! Bless the person at USCIS who saw the error and forwarded it appropriately.

Glad you got it! :)

What's interesting is that it ends up back at the VSC anyway. Out of curiosity, what is the address on your NOA1? Chicago or Missouri or Vermont?
