I am in the process of renewing my greencard I did not realize it expired 2 months ago. I have an appointment with Biometrics on Thursday.

My question is I committed a crime over 18 years ago, am I going to have problems renewing my Greencard? I did not see anywhere on the I-90 form asking for your criminal background or anything. Also my greencard is not marriage basic but I am married now but separated are they going to ask me if I am married now?

When exactly did you obtain your green card?

Your marital status does not matter to USCIS.

You will receive a biometrics appointment where your fingerprints will be taken and run through the FBI for your criminal background check.

Since your crime was way before your first greencard, they already know about it (you DID disclose it first time around, right?), and so it sounds like it was minor enough not to matter. Now of course if you lied when you initially got your card and said you never comitted a crime, then yes, you could have major issues.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
