Hi All, thanks for all the help so far.

I'm in the process of filling out the I-129F and want to make sure I fill out everything correctly.

My fiance is from Vietnam and the Vietnamese alphebet usese Roman letters, but has accent marks. When filling out her information on both the I-129 and G-325, should I write her information like name and address out with or w/out the accent marks?

Questions 31.a-33a says "if your fiance's native alphabet uses other than Roman Letters, write his or her name and address abroad in the native alphabet." I'm pretty sure I just leave that area blank...correct?

Major Thanks in advance!

Best to follow the form instructions. Use standard American alphabet were indicated and native alphabet when asked. It worked quite well for my Chinese wife and stepson's applications.

Good luck.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

I used proper English characters everywhere except where they asked for local language.

My fiancee is Chinese so I basically reentered (copy and pasted) her information in Chinese (provided by her).

Though Vietnamese uses alphabets, I wouldn't automatically equate that to being proper English alphabets.

I'm not an immigration lawyer, but common sense to avoid any delays would be to:

1) Use proper (US) English alphabets everywhere and drop those accent characters.

2) Then on the section where they ask for similar information in local language,

fill that out again with proper Vietnamese alphabets with all the accents, etc.

Thanks Johnim for the specific recommendations. I was leaning towards the same. They do use Roman letters but for instances, they have 3 different letters just for the letter "A". Much appreciated sir!!

Hi Mrnugyen, I have the same question as yours when I fill out my fiance's name and address in Vietnam. As you have experience in this issue, can you show me how to fill out Vietnamese name and address on form I-129F? I would appreciate very much for any help.

So when it asks to put native alphabet, just type in Vietnamese name and address. If there is not enough space for you to put the address, you can use extra word sheet and type in information that answer for the question. That how I did.

Hi Ken88, please help me a little bit more. Besides filling out native alphabet section, do I have to fill out name and address without accent mark in standard Roman alphabet section. And if I have to do so, do I have to translate into English these words in address: Ấp, xã, huyện, quận..or just fill out like this: Ap, xa, huyen, quan...?

Appreciate very much for your help.

Yes you have to translate address into English if other than Native alphabet. For example

10B Tran Quang Dieu Street

An Khanh Ward

Binh Thuy District

Can Tho City

Vietnam

Like I said, provide additional page for fiancé address abroad.
