Hi there,

We recieved the NOA2 some weeks ago dated Nov 15 2013 and are now awaiting the next correspondence. Am i right in thinking that I will receive a letter informing that the case has been sent to the NVC, who will then forward it on to the US Embassy in London who will in turn send my fiancé a packet with a checklist of what to do next?

How long does this usually take and can I start calling them to make sure they have received my case? If so how do i go about doing so (number?) We are now at a stage where we need to start arranging dates etc so want to start booking medical/interview asap will this be possible if the NVC has a case number for us?

Thanks :)

The NVC will tell you it takes "up to 8 weeks" after the NOA-2 for them to receive your file. You can call them at (603) 334-0700 or email them at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. If you e-mail them, put your receipt number in the subject line and include the petitioner and beneficiary's names and birthdates in the body of the letter. If the NVC has assigned you a case number already, you can use that to check your status at CEAC.

Hey,

we were approved on 2nd december, NOA" received in post one week later. Gave it one months and called NVC and was given case number. Three days later was in transit to London. Two days ago, when it had been showing in transit for four days, I emailed London embassy to tell them i had my medical booked this week and all my papers ready for interview and they confirmed I was able to carry on as i had been and attend my medical and they had sent a letter on 28th December telling mke to prepare for interview (my finace in USA recieved yesterday). Later that day after i received the email I rechecked my case status and who ever had responded to me had updated my status to from ;in transit' to 'ready' for interview.

Submitted my notice of readiness yesterday and have my medical tomorow morning in London. So my advice....pester!pester!pester! call, email, do whatever and you will get informed of things when you call up if they have been completed.

Good Luck!! ;-)

To contact London embassy email: londonConsular@state.gov- dont call because its all automated lol!! You will need to refer to you case number which will start LND and you can get vthis by calling NVC on (603) 334-0700 and quaoting your receipt number on your NOA1. Or email with both your names and dates of birth and receipt number to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.
