I have been reading post in here about how the I-130 petitions are backlogged due to the DACA applications. So I was doing a little more research when I came across an article on ImmigrationRoad.com dated 10/08/13. Now I know most VJ members have probably already read this or know this information but I am still learning. So for the new members I will quote a few of the paragraphs that give a real understanding as to what is going on:

"Since the start of DACA August 2012, the total number of pending I-130 petitions has jumped from 208K to 320K, a 60 percent increase. This number only includes immediate relatives of USC and new filings for the same period of time have remained steady."

"On the other hand, more than 500,000 DACA applications have been processed relatively quickly, especially when compared to typical USCIS processing times"

"What is more, DACA is valid for 2 years and renewable. If Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) doesn't pass, it means that every 2 years there will be a rush of DACA applications and the temporary delay of processing other cases could very well become permanent."

How is that for a real slap in the face!!! Should have seen me trying to explain this to my husband last night.

If anything that's an added incentive for Congress to finally pass some form of comprehensive immigration reform, which once again failed to materialize in 2013, mostly due to Republican stonewalling in the House.

yup - I made note of this, here, when the DACA intake date started. Was fun to see the I-130 case transfer notice at USICS as well, happening on the same day. Boondoggle, absolutely.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

The proposed new immigration law has nothing to do with USCIS and NVC. The system is still broken. That will

fix only the current illegals and back log DOS even more. Sorry, but that's the truth.....just think

I guess its all a process and we have no choice but to wait our turns. Is there anything really that we can do to change it? I just try to stay positive and patient, although Im not sure how long I can actually remain positive and patient. We still have a very long wait. Thanks for the information.
