James Shortcuts Question, DS-230

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I am waiting for the DS-230 to be generated which should be any day now. I have everything ready to go per James Shortcuts (DS-230 Part 1, Copy of Biographic Page of her Passport, and Barcode Cover Sheet printed from Visa Journey). Virtually all the other cover sheets and correspondence sent to me from the NVC contain a pattern of asterisks in the upper right-hand portion of the page. Sometimes the pattern changes. I notice that the DS-230 barcode cover sheet available here on Visa Journey is missings the asterisks which I am sure are going to be on the one being generated from the NVC. I am not sure if they serve any purpose such as alignment for a scanner or whether they are unimportant. I assume these asterisks are not critical or else I would seen something about that here on Visa Journey.

1. Has everybody else on here using James Shortcuts been sending in the DS-230 barcode cover sheet without the asterisks?

2. Has there been any problem or issue with this?

As you ask, yes, mine was received minus the asterisks.

But again, mine is for the Phil's , and I do not know if that makes any difference or not.

If that helps you at all. In fact in watching posts. i have seen that some from the same country will or wont have them. Dont make sense, unless some are flagged by NVC on sending. But if you are doing short cuts those flags would be useless to them. Guess I dont realy have an answer except that my DS-230 is without. I have the DS-230 packet in it's entirety if you want to see it.. I have the whole thing in Word Format. Let me know if you would like that.

I uses James Shortcuts and they did not hold me up on the DS230 and I used no asterisk marks. I think you will be okay.
